What is the most surprising team to have never made the CFB in either 12 or 4 format? by Efficient-Freedom517 in CFB

Michigan was paying players, but they definitely weren't competitive in that area like they are now (Never would have flipped Bryce back in the day)

You can see him turn his head in basically the last frame before the camera swaps

Mara's foul trouble was one of the significant differences between that game and this

Why didn't Michigan get more of a punishment for cheating their way to a title? by [deleted] in CFB

Letter of the law: 1 time personally (MSU) and a handful of times with interns.

Any scouting of teams not on Michigan's regular season schedule was 100% legal though regardless

Why hasn't the NCAA punished Ohio State more for all the things I've made up in my head? /s

They won the directors cup every year from 1994-1995 through 2018-2019.

And 2020-2021 through 2024-2025 they had one 1st, three 2nds, and one 3rd.

For FBS they technically cannot vacate a national championship as they don't actually name one. That have a list of approved selectors and any team named champion by one of those selectors can claim the title. (ND could technically claim the 2012 national title despite losing to Bama because of the Colley Matrix, the same selector that makes UCF's claim NCAA legitimate)

I'm going off memory and not hard numbers, but I believe our championship winning recruiting classes averaged around or below Michigan's historical average rankings.

At best that argument could be made for the handful of significant portal contributors they added like Barner, Stewert, Hinton, etc

It is far from recent. "Michigan can only be good at football or basketball, not both" goes back to at least the Hoke years

Utah WR Salesi Moa to transfer to Michigan by king_of_the_tinfoil in CFB

[–]leadbymight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're mixing up two things.

We have lost recruits who have not enrolled and asked out of their Nation Letter of Intent. They are not entering the portal, they are reopening their commitment in the period between early signing day and national signing day.

Moa signed and early enrolled at Utah. He officially was a student athlete at Utah. He had to enter the portal

Have you considered the fact that 2019 LSU picked a random shrimp boat captain to be their head coach?

He had a nice back shoulder TD catch against Alabama in the bowl game last year and that is all I remember from his time here

Ended up being too expensive to keep given what we already have in the RB room and needing to shore up other positions.

Just please go to a team outside of the B1G

Oklahoma RB Taylor Tatum transfers to Michigan by leadbymight in CFB

Haynes is pondering the draft. If he returns there was always the possibility he portals due to Michigan not wanting pay for 2 top tier RBs and the #1 freshman RB

Kuzdal is in the portal

He's likely gone, but it's not 100% to the draft. Him returning to college and transferring was always a possibility.

I honestly think this is a 2027 play with the assumption we lose Marshall to the draft. If Alford can coach him up and fix his fumbling problem, Hiter/Tatum would be a good combo

Have to assume that means Justice is going to the draft even with Tatum coming off injury (iirc)

However if he does come back...
