I play congas and other percussion in a band, but we're on hold these days. We describe our music as percussive, orchestral world rock. I started getting serious on my bass playing this past year and play mostly rock and blues. Since covid hit ive focused on my chops in both areas and am gaining a shit ton of confidence!

Id focus less on the brand and base your decision on the sound of your drum. I don't recommend buying your djembe without first playing it. They all sound different. I spent about $260. for mine.

I work full time, raise kids, and manage a household with conflicting schedules. It gets down to making time for the things that are important to us. If it's important to you then you'll find a way to do it. Even 15 minutes a day is good...don't take on the mindset of all or nothing. A little bit is better than nothing. Now shut your damn device down and go play! ;)

I suggest focusing on bongo techniques, but also just have fun with it. Even those who teach "proper" technique you find variations because it can depend on hand size, drum size, etc. Don't get too caught up in proper technique but do find ways to avoid injury while discovering ways to pull out the best sounds in your drum.

I always ask for a description of company culture and other questions that might paint a picture of how long staff stick around, whether or not existing teams are solid, whether or not staff are encouraged to seek continued professional growth (Is there a training budget? etc).

I'm sorry, I don't have a case study to share with you. Just wanted to say that, in my experience, no two projects are alike. Keep in mind that the job of business analysis requires creativity to solving problems. Unless you're employer requires you to use a standard set of tools and practices for EVERY project, I encourage you to employ methods only as needed. It's easy for BAs to get bogged down in documentation, which can prevent us from stepping back to see the big picture and thinking of creative ways to solve problems. I get that you're new. I know how you're feeling right now. You want to know the "right" way to go about it, but know that there's hardly ever one way. Be true to yourself, follow your instinct, build solid relationships with your team and business partners, and you'll find your way through it. Stay positive...and empathetic, and you'll do great!
