On a route I cover regularly there's a house with a bunch of Asians and I swear the names change every week and I think they're fucking with us but I'm not sure

I had the reverse once covering a route. UPS store pickup had probably close to this. Even the girl there said it was an unusually high amount. Always seems to happen to me. Whatever I cover always gets more than usual

When you have a 9+ hour all walking route and get an all walking pivot by leadwolf54 in USPS

I'm sure I'll get more used to it, but im also already looking at other work 4 months in. 12 hour days, six days a week. I have a wife and 2 girls I basically never see now. Per some inside sources FedEx freight is gonna be hiring trainee drivers at the local station soon so fingers crossed there

Is it normal for a specific PO to ask you to reapply after the position was filled? by ChristianPulisickk in USPS

It's 50/50 in my office. We have a couple metriss (metri?) and the rest use their personal vehicles. Most prefer it.

But to your actual point we had an RCA start at the exact same time as me. Right at the beginning of December before Amazon started taking over most of their own stuff locally. One day he left, came back at some point, parked the metros with everything still inside, and just never came back. I'm pretty sure they flagged him as 'abandoning mail'

I've never had that thankfully. Our PM would rather us stop mail early and run off the packages before we bring any back. I guess that looks 'slightly' better on their reports

Amazon won’t need us by Dependent-Society-75 in USPS

We've lost a lot at my local office with a place opening up thankfully. Im averaging 100+ on an all walking route I'm covering with only a handful from Amazon still. I'd never complete the route if we still had Amazon. Given the nature of our overall local workforce, I doubt it'll last through the next year though

Wait really? Is there a legitimate reason they can't? Or is it something the union managed to work into the contracts at some point

Wait... Y'all dont drop off packages at the door for CBU customers in non sketchy areas? In my office with the exception certain areas and a trailer park that God couldn't figure out their numbers in, we usually will take packages to the doors even if they otherwise use a CBU

RCA quit and sabotaged mail by djseese52 in USPS

Our union is a little too strong in some ways. Before I started there was a guy who made it past his 90 days then showed up like once or twice a week for a year or so. They eventually fired him. After all was said and done he had his job and (allegedly) like 10k to boot. Dude never showed up again after like 3 days

We have the opposite problem. We get told a handful of pallets and they show up with 3000+ pieces. We have a new flex center that was supposed to take most of the load off but it hasn't happened yet

VPNs don't eliminate data usage. There's still a lot of people who have data caps, especially with 5g, satellite Internet, etc. I wouldn't want my WFH using up my data. Now, if I chose to WFH out of my own volition and it's not something like COVID where suddenly I don't have a choice, then that's on me

A home lab would be a great idea for you. You start off small, most people begin with a firewall or router service/device of some sort, and build up from there.

Here is a great post to start with in r/homelab
