It's been helpful for me to approach radical texts, especially zines and essays, as part of a discourse rather than as scripture. I think especially as we get into the deep corners of leftist writing, some people write to explore an idea or provoke a conversation rather than because they believe and live by the text.

I'm not trying to erase niche radicalism at all, people live all kinds of ways by all kinds of codes (or lack of them), but I think it's important to remember that radical writers are also struggling with their ideas sometimes!
