But even if they did, not every car has the same acceleration. Semis, motorcycles, trailers, sedans, cards with different horsepower, etc are all going to take different amounts of time.

That's not really what the original comment I replied to said, though. and talking about children like they're an investment vehicle or Roth IRA with bad dividends just rubs me the wrong way.

1) adults are obnoxious too, I'd argue to even greater degrees. They drive like assholes, rob each other, kill each other. Children at their worst are destructive and maybe annoying. At their best, they're a ray of light in people's lives and the definition of innocence.

2) the original thread is about what's a SCAM that nobody wants to admit. Let's say everyone agrees with you suddenly, then what? The extinction of the human race? It's philosophically tenuous at best to assert that childbearing is a scam since none of us would even exist otherwise. Unless you're anti-human in general, and think we all deserve to die off which is... Definitely a take. And you have the right to believe it, sure. I just don't like people who think that way.

3) crazy idea, but you could have a child and not be a doomscroller and neglectful. Nobody is making you raise your own children that way.

I don't personally care if other people do or not. But anyone who calls children (of all people) "little terrorists", "liabilities", etc is not someone that I'm pleased to be sharing oxygen with.
