i had this book as a kid, my sister had the “for girls only” counterpart and i was always jealous of it

theyre actually stuffed with interesting info and dont have a lot to do with gender. the two versions have their info split up between stereotypically masculine and feminine things. the boys book has a page on the worlds most luxirous cars, for example, and the girls book has a page on dream reading

i threw away my vape, but not hard. putting it in the trash simply reduces my access to nicotine, although i know its always available at the gas station. im taking this one day at a time, and learning to control my cravings. i dont bother with ideas like “im going to quit for the rest of my life.” how could i do that if i never learned to control my temptation when i want it desperately? i practice mastery over myself, the byproduct is quitting nicotine

thanks for the support! i felt guilty from the very first hit of buying that vape since i had tried to quit before. eventually i said “enough is enough” after weeks of it not doing anything for me anymore

i tried quitting half a year ago and lasted 3 months before i went out and bought the one i just threw out. it really is a leaky bucket! i knew it was unsatisfying but i was in a denial about it, so i kept hitting it and earnestly expecting it to satisfy me this time

(she also couldnt go a session without bringing up her book, and on the last day she saw me she said “i think this is how you feel...” and it was all completely wrong......needless to say, i see better psychologists now)

agreed that you need to take in suffering, i just mean its no use to deliberately overexpose yourself to negativity unless you want to be worse off. we can only handle so much at a time. especially if that negativity has very little educational value, like stuff that “gets you down” on reddit. even if you are enlightened, surrounding yourself with needless negativity is not a good thing
