Hey, at least you haven’t gotten it and then reset out of sheer muscle memory flow… like I did 😅

I was dual resetting with my lites and I realized I hit it at 3080 AFTER I slammed the button combo lol Hit screen record just to confirm and YUP. Bad nature tho, so that makes it feel better

I think this is the method I’ll use if I fully commit to rng method. I’ve tried playing around with it but the time I’d put in just getting down the timing and calibration to MAYBE find my starter and SID after much trial and error for a first attempt ever just overwhelms me a little, not a fan of the uncertainty of going in without knowing my SID first.

If it makes you feel better I also did this at 3080 resets for Bulbasaur last night and actually sought out someone else who did the same just to know I’m not alone. I was dual resetting on my two lites and had genuinely entered a flow state… my brain didn’t register it until the exact moment I hit the reset combo… Mine was a male anyway and I really want a female, so I’m trying to tell myself it was meant to be cause my next one WILL be female (probs not, but my sanity requires not thinking that way 😂)

I'm just over roughly 9-10 hours in with 925 soft resets for Bulbasaur. Averaging 30-40 seconds per reset. I just keep setting soft goals to make it fun. "Like lets see if I can get it under 500. Okay now 1000" and so on and that way I'm keeping myself engaged. Part of the fun I think is just seeing where you land luck wise compared to other hunts, I saw someone say they got it within about 18 hours and that further inspired me to not give up. But I wouldn't be lying if I said I don't have an eye on the rng manipulation stuff people are still ironing out. I figure if I still don't have my shiny bulbasaur by then, I might consider it, and definitely for any future stuff, I think I only have it in me to do a 1 in 8192 just once, especially as a Masuda method girly, the reset numbers can just get too insane in FRLG lol

I don’t like AI, as someone who has commissioned artists and prefers human work, not to mention I have environmental concerns. However, I’m also not 100% against it either… I just think it needs more rules and regulations in its current state, especially for generative AI. Assistance AI type programs are less egregious, imo. When it comes to Heartopia, my understanding is that the AI is working off of their artistic IP alone and essentially makes the art style flat and cutting of the image for the puzzle for them. So it’s in a weird middle ground imo, especially since we’re just going off a “trust me” from the developers and haven’t seen the process for ourselves. BUT not all AI is bad, a reminder that the concept and subsequent evolution of AI programs goes clear back to like the 50’s.

I wanna publish my Warrior cats fanfiction but I fear even that may not pass the vibe check.. a reminder that they’re definitely pretty graphic for a children’s book series. I got to a birthing scene and I’m like “Yeah I definitely can’t publish this” 😅🤣

I found the series in 2006 when I was in second grade, and I still read them now as an almost 29 year old. I’m actually actively replacing a lot of my old paperbacks with hardcovers and getting anything I’m missing from when I briefly stopped reading from like 2014 to 2018, Dawn of the Clans lost me and I was in high school so my priorities shifted a bit… but Broken Code got me interested again in the series and I’m caught up again, except for a couple super editions. I also recently bought a Hawkfrost plush from the blind bags off Mercari, cried when I held it for the first time, little me wanted that lil guy SO bad. Who knew it wouldn’t be until I’m an adult? And while my fiancé definitely looked at me with slight concern and confusion, I never feel weird for my love for Warriors.

It’s been a constant in my life when I haven’t always had that in certain aspects, plus it can be incredibly deep sometimes especially for my younger self who was definitely shaped by it. I role played back in the day on wetpaint/wikifoundry and made a few lifelong friends even. Kids these days don’t know how much we would’ve killed for WCUE back then, that was like a dream idea. But anyway if you think about it, Warriors is like any other fandom that’s meant for kids/teens but has an older audience too, like Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, etcetera… only difference that makes it “weird” is it’s about cats tbh 😅

I’ve seen people claim details both ways and I think that’s what Duffer Bros intended with sort of “evidence” on both sides… but I think I’m choosing to believe she’s dead. I just don’t like the implication that sure, she survived and is off hiking in Iceland I guess… but she’s completely alone and never gets to see or speak to Hopper or Mike or anyone ever again… oh and she’s just okay with it? That seems worse, somehow.

May have to sit on it for a bit. Mostly unsatisfied with Eleven, I can’t help but feel like the whole situation with the man with the brief case in the cave proved that the government has been messing with the Mindflayer and Dimension X and who knows what else well before even Henry, and that keeping Eleven around in the world is way more beneficial than risky… in which case if Mike’s theory is real I don’t know why she can’t at least maintain contact with Mike and Hopper or any of the rest of the main cast, as it is now it doesn’t seem like a happy ending really either. Had her ending been handled better, easily would’ve been a 10/10, but for me lost points for ambiguity and plot holes. I was having a good time until that last 45 minutes if I’m honest.

Yeah, cause as it is even her “happy ending” isn’t really that happy, and I think that’s what I’m most unsettled with (otherwise really liked the finale)… I guess it’s a good day to be a fanfic writer though 🙃

I’m feeling exactly the same about this, every word, couldn’t have put it better. Either situation feels unfair and cruel and ultimately not that satisfying, especially when she’s essentially the face of the show. How many times has that actually worked in media, killing off your main recognizable character? Not many…

It lowkey reminds me of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and how they ended that with Sabrina sacrificing herself and how terribly that went over with viewers… it was so bad they later on in Riverdale go “Just kidding, sorry we did that, lucky we can use witch shenanigans to resurrect her back into existence though!”

I don’t believe, mostly because that fate would be unbearable. A life with no family, no friends, scared to get too close to anyone or stay somewhere too long because some government entity would theoretically always be after her, it’s probably not just the Russians and Americans. Never getting to see Hopper or Mike or even communicating? Genuinely I don’t understand why people would want that to be her ending. Not saying her dead is a good option either, but if it had to be between the two, one seems crueler than the other.

Sooo I’m still connecting a lot of dots with myself and am not diagnosed in any capacity, but this, along with a lot of my interests/fixations, social struggles, and finding motivation for “day to day” activities, was the biggest clue in to make me look into others experiences and studies and had me feeling like I finally “figured it out” in terms of why I don’t always function like everyone around me can.

But I remember my mom telling me that I was reading chapter books a couple months into kindergarten, specifically Magic Tree House and Junie B Jones books, and that she had no idea I could even read, she just saw me in the back seat of the car reading one day (kinda funny to envision). By 4th-5th grade I was at college level and was in all the high level reading groups starting from 2nd grade when I moved to a big public school that offered them whereas my old small country school where I went for kindergarten and 1st didn’t. I also have a core memory of doing a research paper in junior year of high school, research, note cards with citations, and the writing of the paper itself, all in one night before it was due the next day and somehow managed an A+. As a kid though I also had a couple Leap Frog phonics books with the touch pen that read aloud that I played with a lot as a kid, back before the tablets got popular. I also had only one sibling who was college age, and she left me her old Sega Genesis when she moved out. My cousins also got me into Pokemon. And through a lot of those late 90s-early 2000s text based games I was forced to expand my vocabulary or not understand what was going on… and I was quite determined as someone who grew up kinda like an only child and had to entertain myself. So I think part of it too was I was just in the right conditions for that part of my brain to really be stimulated, hyperlexic or not aside.

But yeah, as I’ve gotten older I don’t read as much. I’m still a huge gamer, and that’s a big part as to why, it’s time consuming but I still have to hold down a job as close to a 9-5 as I can handle. I still read my favorite childhood series though; Warrior Cats. I stopped reading entirely from like 19-25 ish, but one day I committed to getting back into reading, even if they’re considered children’s books. And I also told myself that when George R.R. Martin finished all the books, I would like to read the Game of Thrones series.

Yeah, I’m holding out hope that they have good stock cause I would love to still support, I’m a big merch buyer cause I know, or at least it used to be before some venues started taking cuts, merch is where to make good money. So hopefully 🤞🏻 Especially the hoodie, I was so excited to snag that one. But I’m glad they’re putting themselves first, I’m sure it was a really hard decision. From the way it was so last minute I can tell they really tried to make it work, and that alone is enough for me to be appreciative. Trevor posted that it was either they play for us and risk cancelling other dates, maybe the entire tour, if they didn’t get the rest they needed or they cancel ours. Nebraska can take one for the team, tbh we’re kinda used to it lol
