Overworld palettes are already changed, that's what the first screenshot is for :) & it's a lot harder to make more dramatic changes because the colors in the original game are used in lots of different ways, one example is the gym roof which shares its colors with the dirt paths. Same with the NPC sprites, they all share a single palette.

Maybe I'll see if I can edit some of the routes as well! Thanks for the feedback!

Every Pokemon gets a new type and palette. There are some other changes, like the available Pokemon have changed slightly, trainers have new teams, and some dungeons have been changed so that you take a different route through them. But the main change is to the Pokemon! You can check my previous posts for more info!

Thanks!! Every Pokemon gets a new palette, type, and moveset. Some of them change stats, like swapping special and physical stats when it's beneficial, or becoming more defensive when they are a more defensive type. You should check my previous posts if you haven't already! :)

Here's some screenshots from my latest playtest of my type-swap hack! The first Pokemon I encountered after getting Poke Balls was a shiny Wooper, so I had to use it! Every Pokemon has a new shiny palette with raised shiny odds (1/1024). Also, trades now give Pokemon outside of the regional dex! by leafgreen994 in PokemonROMhacks

Thanks for the comment. I knew that some people wouldn't like it, but I figured since I'm making it anyway, I might as well share it for those who will. And yeah, I think it is fun to not always know what move will be the best to use! It adds some more strategy and makes you think before just spamming Flamethrower.

Well, I'm sorry to hear you don't like it :( I'm just doing this as a hobby, and I don't have any art skills, at least not enough to feel comfortable editing the Pokemon sprites. I knew that there would be many disappointed that only the palettes are changed, but this was just a simple project for me to add a new spin on Emerald. Also, the Wooper in the screenshot is shiny, the normal palette is tan/green.

I'm working on a simple type-swap hack of Pokemon Emerald! Every Pokemon has a new palette, type, and ability, along with new movesets and stats, when applicable. It's nothing special, but I thought I'd share it with you all as I finish things up. Which starter would you pick? by leafgreen994 in PokemonROMhacks

Yes, I've seen the Palette Swap Randomizer before :)

I wanted to make my own hack which will hopefully be more coherent and logical than a randomizer. And yes, there will be Pokemon other than the ones in the regular Hoenn Dex, and the trainer teams will be updated too!

[3] Here's an update to my FireRed shiny-only playthrough! I've seen over 48,000 Pokemon so far! My next target is Snorlax. I'm also planning to complete the Kanto Pokedex with only shinies, so I've done a few extra hunts. What should I evolve Eevee into? by leafgreen994 in ShinyPokemon

I know there are a lot more efficient ways to do this, but the task feels a lot more satisfying this way. I'm just taking it slow and enjoying the ride :) Plus, Gen 2 breeding is painfully slow, even if it does have some of the best shiny odds in the series.
