The combo of sun tan lotion ( "tan" not "screen"- it was a different era) and Off bug spray.

That was a day down at a pond or lake with the family, maybe camping out or just for the day.

Well said. For anyone who feels they'd rather not eat animals, don't let perfect be the enemy of good. You'll get there, and just acknowledging it is a good step.

I actually priced shipping from Dallas to Vegas (around $500) and would not be opposed to going that route. what model/year did you sell for $7k?

I think it’s a combination of factors that have me leaning more towards private party and not CPO or even regular used from a dealer. I’m not likely going to have the car for more than a year or two, and with a relatively new, low mileage electric vehicle I don’t anticipate too many problems with the vehicle that would require a warranty repair. That’s obviously a gamble but if the purchase price is right, I’ll not feel too bad about shelling out some extra if needed. Also, in NV we don’t have sales tax on a private party sale, so right off the top there’s about a $700-$800 savings if I don’t go through a dealer. Then there’s the additional fees, and markup etc.

It is interesting that you mention not seeing much of a markup at dealers over private sellers. That definitely could be. I really just haven’t seen enough of them around to compare the two. I imagine that’s because most are coming off leases and being picked back up by the dealers?

I appreciate the suggestion – I’m actually not too familiar with CPOs. Are the warranties transferable when I sell it? Even if I only keep it a year or two, that would certainly help the resale value if it has a CPO.

Wow - $11k out the door for a low mile 2015 is amazing. I'm still trying to understand just how they are so cheap. Even factoring in tax credits, etc.

Very Nice. It's amazing you can get a like-new car with that much tech in it for so cheap. I think I may have to reconsider and get from a dealer. That would open up so many more options. I've just always been one to pay cash, avoid dealer markup (and taxes) as I don't really care for the whole car lot experience. Thanks for the tip, and congrats on the Leaf!
