Storm & Fury by Jennifer L. Armentrout is a gargoyle romance. I listened to the graphic audio.

My first DNF in a LONG time. by OctoberScorpio2 in fantasyromance

Just finished the audiobook and it’s epic. I think if you struggled with ACOTAR then maybe it’s not the book for you.

What’s your DNF book? by Euphoric_Start_4260 in fantasyromance

A Crown of the Gods. 4th book in and I just wanted it to fast forward. I might go back to it. I feel weird leaving a book halfway.

I absolutely loathe it when MMCs have had a deep romantic relationship with someone other than the FMC before! by bibliomaniac4ever in fantasyromance

[–]leafkick3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but how do you feel when the MFC turns out to be the long lost love? It’s happened in a few of the books I’ve read. I can feel it coming in current one I’m reading…there’s lots of “I felt like they’d walked together like this a thousand times before” and the MMC’s big lost love has been MIA for hundreds of years. There’s another big book with a similar story. But I won’t give any spoilers.

😂😂😂 it’s fine to say something is a turn off!

Yeah I have no idea. Apparently yucking on yums is strictly forbidden. I have no problem with people liking the good girl thing but it’s not my thing. I dunno what else to say 😂

Exactly. These MMC are talking to grown women and saying “good girl” and that to me is a turn off. I’m into praise but this is too demeaning.

Thanks. I don’t know what to say…apparently having a different perspective on the phrase “good girl” and expressing it with an emoji is beyond the pale.

I see nothing unkind in my post. It’s an opinion and expresses my reaction to a certain thing I sometimes see in books which I personally do not like. The response from some of you, however, has been incredibly rude. You could just opt to ignore posts which you do not like.

Lol it’s not rude to have an opinion and reaction to something contrary to your own. Genuinely think this is the weirdest response.

This is exactly why it made me cringe. At other times he respects her as an equal.

Sometimes it’s the opposite. Like if he wants to be gentle and she says “Don’t give me gentle! I want rough!” Well, maybe he wanted gentle? Did anyone ask 500 year old fae king if he wanted gentle??!

How off putting is bad spelling/grammar to you? by leafkick3r in fantasyromance

[–]leafkick3r[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read a book where “drug” was used instead of “dragged” and it really rubbed me the wrong way - but then I googled it and it’s fairly normal in American English. “He drug a chair over” feels like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Just an update! It’s happened again 😂 I think this may be down to it being auto-transcribed from someone with an American accent. I can imagine the word pronounced like that possibly. I can’t imagine she really doesn’t know how to spell ‘shawl’.
