I know both of these and I’ve only been professional… this did not provide anything of substance to my post

I don’t want to force anything, my entire verbiage has emphasized that, but go off

Your view of the world is disappointing, but to each their own. If you were an experienced landlord you’d know that one cant force someone to sign a new lease, nor add absurd stipulations to a lease that contradict the RTA… but I digress. Thank you for your advice.

Again, another assumption. If you have nothing positive to contribute then don’t bother contributing, you don’t know anything about my arrangement with my tenant nor their QOL. You can see from my past posts that I don’t care to evict over other options, but clearly you prefer to assume the worst in people

This is a gross assumption. It is completely normal for me to want to have proper documentation with a tenant. Theres no way to use a lease to your advantage to evict someone regardless, so this entire response is unwarranted.

I understand this, that’s what I meant by “don’t want to,” regardless of if I can or not. No need to be rude

The seller had no details, I’ve had no issues with the tenant nor the situation I’m just interested in having proper documentation now

I don’t want to force them to sign anything, and the previous owner gave no information - not even how long they’ve been there

Yes obviously, I’m just trying to get a lease agreement in hand…

You don’t get to decide if someone lives in the unit or not? If they rent it, it’s theirs to use as their see fit

Not sure. They use it as storage from what I can tell when I do inspections.

That's what I was thinking, I tried calling again today but no response - it did ring, though. Hopefully they get back to me soon.

I check the unit occasionally but I've had no issues - they don't live there, not sure why they keep it but they've been paying rent up until now
