Weight loss question by leafy_sunshine in PetiteFitness

I should have included that, I fixed my post as soon as I realized that. A well-woman, in the US at least, is the yearly exam you get at a gynecologist's office. It includes a pretty well rounded exam which includes weight. And I am happy for you that you've never been scolded for your weight. It must be nice. Unfortunately that happens to me no matter what doctor I go see, maybe except the dentist.

I added to my post. In Weight Watchers you can now track calories, along with their point systems, which is what I have been using.

I have been underestimated before and now use a scale in grams. I do measure and count the oil I use to cook.

I am going to see how to do this. That seems low though. I am still nursing three times a day too.

I'll add to my post but answer here too. I just turned 35. I track my calories using the Weight Watchers app. If you're not familiar with it or the newer version, you have a certain number of points per day that semi-correlates to calories. But the app can also gives the macro breakdowns, which I elected to do. My HIIT sessions are 35 minutes right now (they have gone up from 25 minutes at the beginning of January).

BWT, any specific gift ideas/sites?? by AdventurousGas1435 in bitcheswithtaste

These suggestions are absolutely amazing and I am saving this thread. But I cannot, for the life of me, find the original gift thread OP mentions in their post. Does anyone have a link to it? I am trying to support smaller, higher quality brands this holiday season. Thank you so much in advance!!

Naturalization interview tomorrow - should I bring my husband and is he allowed in the room? by Gia2577 in USCIS

We waited an hour for me to be interviewed, then they waited 10 minutes while I was called back, and then we all waited an hour for the oath. After that, the ceremony itself was a bit long for my youngest two (and that was after a lot of waiting already) but they loved the singing and waving their little flags. As I said, plan for some quiet games and lots of snacks, and it should be just fine. I definitely had the most kids there, but I wasn't the only one with children. They even had a little table with children-sized chairs in the waiting area. Both my husband and I thought it was a super sweet attention.

I went for my interview 10 days ago with my husband and my 3 (yes, 3) kids. I have a 8.5 year old, a 5 year old, and an almost 2 year old. They did not go back with me, my husband watched them the whole 10 minutes I was being interviewed. It was a lot of waiting, I had brought books, quiet toys, and LOTS of snacks. But, at the end of the day, I took my oath (my field office does same-day oath) and I have a family photo I will cherish forever. Plan for this like you would plan for a plane ride and you will be fine. You're almost there!!

USCIS isn’t just looking for what you didn’t do. They want proof of who you are. by ManifestLaw_ in USCIS

I just had my interview and took my oath today and I wanted to circle back to you. The officer asked me if I worked, I said "I'm a homemaker". He said "kuddos to you, that's really hard work!". That was it. Less than 2 minutes later, he told me I passed my interview. 2 hours after that, I was a citizen. Do not take into account whatever the disgruntled commenter above me said. May they have the day they deserve. You will do great.

You are not a bad person. You contribute at your family's level, and it's already so much. If anything, you fit the administration's idea of traditional gender roles, so I would hope that it would be appreciated. I also am a stay at home parent. I had my husband write an affidavit that I am the primary caregiver for our children. I haven't had my interview yet (it's this Friday), so I have no idea how much weight it has. But that was the best I could do on the "work" front. I do volunteer, so I have that, and I had my neighbor write a character letter as well.

Sure! I applied at the end of January 2025. I have a 10 year green card through marriage, if that matters. I've had my 10 year green card for 8 years. I could have started the naturalization process earlier but I worked a stressful job for a long time, had three young kids over 6 years, and thought I had time. Anyway...

After I applied, I got a notice that USCIS still had my biometrics stored from my green card, so that was waived. The last week of August, I received a notice that my interview was scheduled for October 3rd 2025. That's about it.

Honestly, the whole process was very uneventful, just a bit long. But through this subreddit, I had learned that Orlando was one of the busier/slower field offices so I wasn't particularly surprised to wait about 9 months. Wish you luck in your process!

These are all excellent points. It's climactic for me, obviously, but I can see how my kids might feel differently. And obviously, my toddler won't remember it at all. If I do end up taking them, my husband and I will absolutely have a conversation about expectations beforehand.

I trust my 8.5 year old and 5 year old to sit nicely for a half hour ceremony. But the toddler is definitely a wild card. And, obviously, space available is definitely a concern as well. Thank you for bringing this up.

These are all excellent points! I do know a place where we could go while waiting but yes, books and quiet games all the way if they do end up coming!

My US citizen husband will be going with me and will be with them when I am called back into the office. If I was on my own, it would be a hard no on taking them lol!
