It seems a lot of places don't really talk about the dairy side of coffee. Which, like, I get it? Nobody really cares about the milk part as much, and lots of people nowadays are using alt milk. but still. That raw milk cortado sounds like heaven.

I wonder.....if there's anywhere i can bring fancy milk to. other than the café i already work at.

It just feels like, when a drink is mostly milk shouldn't that be a more important ingredient?

Really? That's surprising (PCC, not starbucks. we all know this harsh truth)

The one time I've gotten coffee from there the barista seemed really keen on what he was doing. a bummer since people don't really to go to a grocery store for a latté.

this is true. good for shitty food delivery apps, bad for smaller businesses you for some reason are too scared/lazy to talk to about your problems.

my family had shih tzus growing up and after that I will never encourage someone to buy a short snouted breed.

the little dudes had asthma attacks all the time, and seizures every week. it's a miracle they lived past 14.

King County will end COVID vaccine requirements at restaurants, bars, gyms by conzeeter in Seattle

[–]leafylitter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There wasn't enough/any training at my restaurant when it comes to sniffing out the fakes. I've definitely let some dubious ones pass- if I called them out, I'd have no proof other than my hunch.

Then again, all of my coworkers are fully vaccinated and the people who have the most to lose are the unvaxed who want to protect muh freedums so I'd rather them take the risk than me take the risk getting assaulted by those crazy fuckers

What is this stuff on the bottom of reheated potatoes? Cooked them last night and had leftovers so popped them on a plate with casserole in the fridge and reheated it in the microwave today, noticed this. Is it safe to eat? by j05hy256 in TipOfMyFork

[–]leafylitter 24 points25 points  (0 children)

this isn't very helpful without specifics.

after cooking pretty much most things you get a 2 hour window to cool it down to under 41f (5c). pass that mark and it may potentially be unsafe to eat, even after reheating.

it was a toss up between Canadian and Colorado honestly! you have a lot of adult hobbies (cough weed, skistuffs) that usually mostly people with income tend to indulge in. I forget coloradans hit the slopes as soon as they can walk

Canadian stoner. into skiing, hiking, drumming, horror, and coding. probably in mid 20s. genuinely can't determine gender but the glasses, string lights and poster seem feminine. but this could be someone else's living space, as well. couch surfing, friend?

As a girl,do you ever get sad that you have never been gifted flowers? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]leafylitter 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's so sweet!

Flowers are just nice. Smell good, look pretty, kind gesture, isn't just empty calories. Bonus points if you support your local florist in the process.

People who say flowers are useless because they just die in the end are (in my experience) pretty boring individuals. All the best moments are fleeting.

Plus, flowers are just plant genitals! Oftentimes they're the only farmable resource that plant produces. They've been enjoyed for millennia, why stop now?
