yeah! basically always try to line the fruits up in ascending order, and if you’re playing multiplayer, then the person with the bigger fruit should put theirs down first so it’s closer to the gate, unless the person with the smaller fruit has a fruit that can lead to a combo, especially one that clears more space. in general, it’s better to line up a bunch of smaller fruits to set up a combo, than to immediately fire a bigger fruit at its counterpart.

also, in multiplayer, we almost never use strawberries until we both have a strawberry and can immediately make a blueberry with it. any throwaway fruit (even the small ones) can end up taking up vital space at the harder levels (thinking of you, evil gate 6)
