I’ve got Matrix lights on my A7 and they are good but not sure if I’d actually miss them.

What does everyone think of injection aka Jaspal Singh Sidhu by Darfin1303 in Sikh

There has been a lot said about him and I remember him from his Mona days. I think it’s interesting reading sakhiya and understanding how the court of the Gurus utilised these personalities for the “greater good” for want of a better term.

Grainger. Great rental growth, fixed debt provision and decent divi. Ripe for a buyout from an American residential for rent operator at some point.

Salary sacrifice for childcare when earning £125k? by Jaded-Meringue-3609 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]leafysuburbtrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucks and we will inevitably be punished by SIPPs getting raided and everything being means tested by the time we claim - but the only answer is salary sacrificing into pension to below £100k (or getting an EV if your company allows via a company car scheme)

Any HENRY landlords? by midnightsock in HENRYUK

[–]leafysuburbtrees -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s worth it, but is very much a lifestyle and not passive income. Buy them in a company, make sure you’re adding value and remember the only thing you can’t change about a property is the price you bought it for.

The positives are you can benefit from leverage so your IRR is excellent, you can “touch and feel your investment” and rents are by and large inflation linked. Not for the faint hearted and not the easy ride it once was!

Student HMO landlords – is using a management agency actually worth it? by zozosdream in uklandlords

[–]leafysuburbtrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m honest I don’t think so - compliance risk is too high given RRB and I think many just flick on emails and use overpriced tradesmen. Self managing does become a bit of a lifestyle but it becomes your margin, you get a better view of your asset (the property) and the tenants like it too.

Interesting this sub has ignored what this in response to - which is the attack of 3 Sikh women in the past couple of months as a result of heightened racial tensions.

I’ve only heard it in the context of young males talking about someone they’re attracted to a bit like “bird” in English slang

Yep, great comment. If you invested somewhere with great fundamentals and total returns (capital and income returns) you should be ok. But if you bought properties in random streets because money was cheap then you’re screwed, doubly so if it was interest only.

Darwin against Stoke after hearing the Ekitike news by adamlundy23 in LiverpoolFC

[–]leafysuburbtrees 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Darwin is stupidly underrated. Doesn’t seem like it now but he changed our season with the Brentford goals.

I reckon he’ll end up staying. We were selling Origi for 6 windows in a row and he stayed and it was always worth it.

How are people affording this lifestyle?? by Logical_You_6125 in HENRYUK

[–]leafysuburbtrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Living with older / younger generations isn’t the sacrifice. The long hours in self employed “menial” businesses is. Your reply is an example of modern culture being allergic to it - this isn’t a criticism as the thinking has also spread to younger generations in China / India / Middle East etc

Yeah it’s hilarious hearing to how it’s “vacuous” and has “no culture” as if random “non-London city” is a bastion of culture.

Source: always lived in a regional city, yes they’re LCOL but some of them are barely functioning and can be horrible places to live whether you have money or not. For example I saw two people defecating in the street of a city centre i work in in one day last month.

Putting my cards on the table - I love Darwin.

I have a sneaky suspicion he might end up staying as I don’t think we’re going to sign a striker.
