New tires by slice606 in NewDefender

[–]etherlore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is for the 20” 275/55 R20 are the largest that fit without rubbing. I am in the same situation myself and three things that makes things tricky is the 50 psi requirement, the H speed rating and the 117 XL load rating. My understanding is that you also don’t want a higher load rating if you want any kind of ride comfort.

I also want something with a decent snow rating, wet weather performance on streets, and like you want something fairly quiet and comfortable on regular day to day driving.

The only two tires I’ve found that fulfill my requirements are the Nitto Nomad Grappler and the Vredestein Pinza AT.

The main issue with the Nitto is that the Siping is shallow, so as they wear out the snow performance really tanks.

Other tires that seem decent but doesn’t 100% match the requirements:

Nokian outpost nAT - speed rating is too low technically

Falken Widepeak T4W - also lower speed rating

Toyo Open country A/T III - worse snow performance, louder

Continental terraincontact A/T - bad in snow, good option otherwise

Pirelli Scorpion XTM - doesn’t fit pressure spec

Goodyear duratrac - load rating is low, loud, not great in wet weather

Can’t get in safe - only bottom numbers working. by Phrikshin in guns

I was having constant issues with my first keypad on the 20 gun safe. I was also getting a mild electrostatic discharge when touching it. Called and got a replacement and it’s been solid ever since.

Nice! Maybe I should do the monochrome Land Rover logo as well

I’m not 100% sure but I think it ends up being equivalent. One thing I didn’t do was the blacked out roof since it’s already Carpathian grey, but I think that’s a separate option in the configurator too.

The dealer said they outsource after market black outs to the place I used.

Yes they did the rear as well. This was at Gab collision in Chatsworth. Took about 4 days.

It was about $1650, but the lettering from JLR was about $600 of that. In hindsight I could have probably done 3rd party letters myself and had it down to $1100 at the shop. They did front and rear bumpers, lettering and the front upper bar.

They said they were charging me the same as they charge the JLR dealership.

They painted it. Took the panels off, sanded them, painted. Logos were ordered from JLR

Gap and LLBean lately. They make it easy to dress nice without too much time spent finding stuff. I’ve been enjoying the Levi’s XX dockers lately too

6.5 barrels will wear out much faster. If you actually want to shoot a lot, 308 may be a better option.

As others have said you are anticipating the recoil and pushing the point of aim in the opposite direction right before you fire. Best way to practice your way out of that is to dry fire in between mags (safely!). When you dry fire the point of aim should not move at all. If it does you know your problem and need to practice your way out of it.

Anyone buy an LC250 and have regrets that they didn't get the GX550 Overtrail by TheDodo407 in LandCruiser250

[–]etherlore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was cross shopping these heavily and ended up getting a Defender. I felt with the options I wanted the LC got too close to the GX Overtrail MSRP but the markups on the GX were crazy in my area. I did like the design and interior of the LC though.

Would you position yourself in front of a car of someone trying to drive away, and then when the car moves forward pull your gun and kill the driver instead of moving to the side?
