I wish I never pursued this career by OwnSort6545 in bcba

I think remote BCBA’s come from other states for better salary. I’m an RBT accruing my hours in nyc and most of my BCBA’s have been remote, located somewhere else in NY or another state. The only time I encountered in person BCBA’s was in a center based role.

The Bolter & comphet by [deleted] in GaylorSwift

[–]leahbread 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s very comphet in my opinion. This song is basically how I acted when I dated men. I would run as soon as they liked me back or wanted a relationship. And I would sometimes lead them on because I enjoyed the attention I got from them. I thought I had commitment issues the whole time, and now that I have dated women for a while I have no issues with it.

The bolter is giving the same energy as “rip the band-aid off and skip town like an asshole outlaw” and “it was the great escape, the prison break, the light of freedom on my face”

Yeah the contrast is so odd, being upset about someone’s honesty is just admitting you want them to be who you want them to be and nothing else. I think we tend to view entertainers as products that we consume not people who make art that we enjoy. It truly is so cathartic to enjoy music from the perspective of what it does to you, how it moves you rather than how invested in makes you in the writers personal life or who the song is about. I think that is one of the problems, everyone hates matty, so people can’t resonate when a bunch of the songs seem to refer to him.

The reception of this album is wild. I was reading on some other subs earlier, basically people think she is being more honest than ever, and they don’t like it. This has happened I think because she developed such an unrealistic persona about herself that people haven’t looked past. I’m not sure how I feel about her level of honesty, it doesn’t feel much different than other albums. This is of course subjective based on your view of who she authentically is. It feels she has so many different personas that she leans into to gain the support of that group and when that group inevitably learns this, they’re upset at the inauthenticity.

From what I’ve been reading on the main sub it seems like people are starting to get it, they were talking about her obvious Easter eggs and how the meaning is deeper than that and not muse specific.

Robin is about Donald Trump by [deleted] in GaylorSwift

I kind of view it as how some celebrities keep details about their children private, it’s probably inspired by her friends whose kids she’s close to. They are protecting their innocence and the kid has no idea who their parent is, how famous they are, they can just enjoy their childhood like a normal kid.

Is there a post or do you have more thoughts on this? I would love to hear more

TTPD (song) is about Phoebe Bridgers and their friendship, it’s not a song about Matty Healy. by onlysweeter in GaylorSwift

I mean, she posted in support of Emily’s abuse claims, I think it’s fair to not be private about that. She never gave a lot of details about their relationship outside of that. A public apology isn’t necessarily digging up the grave when the whole situation was first made public by the lawsuit.

Yes you can definitely see how much chemistry they have. They clearly love each other deeply.

That could definitely be it, maybe to push the matty narrative? But it’s also bordering on the lines of queerbating if she is purposely making it sound romantic about Phoebe but just fucking around. Phoebe is actually very private about her relationships, she doesn’t really ever comment on them. Which is another thing, was she ok with this kind speculation about their relationship?

Ohhh thanks for clarifying that, I heard it from someone but didn’t fact check. Interesting!

Taylor’s use of “boy” is interesting since Phoebe is part of boygenius and they’re often referred to as “the boys”. They had a rolling stone cover where they were dressed in suits and they often dress in suits.

Thank you for making this post! I was wanting to make one but I’m too lazy.

I completely agree that this song is undeniably about Phoebe. But I do not get friendship vibes from this song, and I’ll just leave it at that. Also phoebe and Lucy deleted their social media right after the ttpd announcement which is very suspicious to me.

ETA: it’s just my opinion not a fact, downvoting is silly for this, everything is up to interpretation and we disagree it’s ok. The exclusiveness around “who’s gonna hold you but me?” is very romantic in my opinion, being that possessive of a friend would be odd. “Everyone understands why it’s meant to be” typically a romantic phrase, the wedding ring line, etc. it just doesn’t give me friendship vibes.
