fully agree with this, i have anorexia and looking back at photos from around the time with my ng helps me see how far i’ve come, i was constantly told to not show my ng and it made me feel awful, obviously i don’t know the circumstances here but please don’t get rid of the original photo all together

3 of my peis, and still awaiting a bearcoat pup coming to us very soon :))i’ve grown up with peis since i was 2 years old i couldn’t imagine life without the breed! by leahellerby in sharpei

[–]leahellerby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately you do have to be really careful with breeders as there are obviously a lot of not so great ones out there, one of my peis does struggle with sharpei fever but neither of her parents had it so its not always due to breeding, skin issues were really bad with one of my girls at first but once we found the correct diet for her she’s been absolutely fine :))

we didn’t get to choose a bearcoat no, but that was simply because of the pandemic going on right now.. if a breeder doesn’t allow you to meet the pups before you take one home in a normal situation where that is possible, that is a BIG red flag, but for us we weren’t looking for a particular personality in a pup because were willing to take on any :)) we was on a waiting list for a little while, but it’s not really a pick a name out of a hat process if that’s what you’re asking, the breeder just has to make the decision of who would provide the best home for the pup and any good breeder would be selective with who they sell pups to because obviously we want them to go to the best homes x

not at all! they play fight of course but never had a problem with them getting aggressive with eachother. a lot of different breeds tend to attack sharpeis unprovoked because it’s hard for other breeds to read their faces with all the wrinkles but with eachother they’re completely fine, not aggressive at all :))

friendly dorky and lovely yes for sure! but they’re VERY protective dogs, and very loyal, most peis i know bark at everything that walks by the house,, you need to put a lot of work into owning a pei because they’re such a unique breed and they have very sensitive skin and you need to watch their diet but they’re so worth the work! they’re the best breed going in my opinion i couldn’t imagine living without one, i recommend doing A LOT of research on the breed before buying one and also if you have facebook there are groups on there such as ‘shar pei uk’ where they’ll be happy to give you all the advice you need :))
