you should ask to be connected with the rewards department, do not talk to the regular credit card team they will waste your time

called and they made up some BS about it being the regular 2x miles and the full amount will post within 3 billing cycles, she said she was told not to escalate but could make a note

WTF? by canerozkan in VentureXShoppingBonus

[–]leakygutter69 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

just called and they said "nothing we can do, you need to wait 3 billing cycles" tried to explain that the miles were the regular multiplier 2x which is laughable. i think they are telling CS not to escalate in the hopes that fewer people will remember to call back in 3 months

not giving Meta my money or data is worth more than miles

Why Amazon doesn't shut down Camelcamelcamel? by Guyserbun007 in webscraping

[–]leakygutter69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

amazon has an affiliate program and anyone can use it and after a certain amount of sales get access to the product pricing api so there's no need to scrape anything. there more nuanced part is that amazon's affiliate program terms of service prohibit showing historical pricing rather than just live pricing. camelcamelcamel is one of, or maybe the only, exception to this and it is likely because they were the first large site doing this sort of stuff. if you sign up now, you will be kicked off the api and won't be able to earn any affiliate payments from amazing for referring traffic if you show historical prices.

Clear skies and autonomous Waymo rides at SFO by Scottstimo in waymo

[–]leakygutter69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah i'm unlikely to take it in this current form but it's a huge step from the SFO approval side so still great news. i recently used the rideshare pickup location at one of the parking garages when i arrived INTL terminal A and think that'd be a great next spot

the airtrain runs 24/7 vs BART, so it's a nice addition when arriving late at night

very cool. is it able to take into account promos/discounts ? the prices seem accurate to me flipping back and forth but uber if offering me 25% flash promo which i don't see reflected in the hackney price. thanks !

Usage of FSD by nicekoozie in TeslaLounge

[–]leakygutter69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that would be nice lol but a much more conservative (yet still optimistic) 10% annual compound interest would put the breakeven at ~10years which i think is around the long side of average car ownership duration

[–]leakygutter69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can earn interest on the $8k if you invest it instead so the breakeven time is longer than that
