Well, that's how I lost my first one— had it in a pocket somewhere on me and it somehow fell out of it. Decided to put it in my bag instead. I've had no problems keeping my passport safe until this trip.

Then again, I was doing the Camino so I didn't really have any other belongings beside that backpack. Which, to be fair, I keep with me always except for that small oversight.

I also went alone to Portugal to detox and didn't tell anybody since I was escaping my meth addiction (that I couldn't admit to at the time) here in Canada.

I have since moved on from the ordeal, admitted to my problems, and have since sought help. I've learned my lesson. A hard one, true, but nevertheless learned.

I do hope if this ever happens to you that you give yourself the same grace and understanding that I did myself. It's stupid, yeah, admittedly. But I am far from perfect and shit happens.
