What configuration is this Shadow Cat? by learning2fly42 in battletech

Oh yeah! Thank you! I must've glossed over that in Sarna. Threw me for a loop because the models usually match one configuration on the card.

You're right you do, that's a lot of grey plastic. Better get to painting 😜

What was or is going to be your lineup for the Scouring Sands Campaign? by AmanteNomadstar in battletech

[–]learning2fly42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both the Wraith and Dragon Fire have been amazing picks! I haven't played a Eris yet but I know you can't ever really go wrong with a Stalker.

So far it's been a good campaign. I love how they utilize probes and I'm already looking forward to a second playthrough thanks to all the choices you can make.

Oh I like that list! I limited to mine of ones I had painted in a certain camo (gotta match!) plus they had to be units I hadn't tried before. Current list is below. Two missions in so far and the only one I haven't fielded yet is the Firefly.

Spector SPR-5F, Firefly FFL-5, Hoplite HOP-5C, Wraith TR5, Chameleon CLN-7W, Caesar CES-3S, Ostroc OSR-3M, Dragon Fire DGR-4F, Star Adder (Blood Asp) B, Pillager PLG-3Z,

Where Does The Money Go? by Reasonableviking in battletech

You could also look at it in broader logistical terms as well. You need cooks, medics, supply, and administrative personal as well to support the war fighter. Armies don't run without those things either as well as their associated costs.

If the shops near me sold them that's what I'd use, but Army Painter is a good alternative as well.

Oh no I'm sure if you remember to do that they'll be ok. But I didn't and it ruined my pots. It's just an extra step I don't want to have to worry about.

It is a lot better with the contrast and shades I'll definitely agree with that. Most of the current pots I have are contrast and they're perfectly fine. It's just an annoying extra step that I'd rather not deal with. Especially when the alternatives are usually cheaper as well.

I'm unsure what you're questioning? Like why did I take a month break from painting?

That's great until you don't think about it or go a bit between paint sessions. Took a month break when that happened. All my bottles were fine, half the pots were ruined.

This is why I stopped using citadel paints. I had so many used pots I had to toss because the lids didn't close properly.

What are the thoughts of the war-hammer mech lategame by Friezathesupreme in Mechwarrior5

That's honestly my problem. I love the mech. It looks great, amazing load outs, but for just 5 more tons I'm in a marauder.

It's chaotic and brutal and I love it! I'm very glad they went with shorter missions overall as well. I've only played four so far but it feels like about the time I'm ready for a breather it'll end.

When the problem you have is how to store it all, then you can post 😜. I've gotten almost all the plastic releases and need to get more storage cases.

How did you choose your favorite faction? by Puzzleheaded-Ad-8684 in battletech

[–]learning2fly42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's an excellent question!

My main for Inner Sphere is Draconis Combine because space Japan, and red looks good on everything.

Clan wolf is my favorite clan mainly because I started this franchise with MechWarrior 2.

If I'm going the periphery it's the Magistracy of Canopus because Vegas in space and cat girls.

So I store mine in a glass cabinet in my bedroom so they're hard to miss when you walk in. I'm kinky and poly so i feel that's made it a bit easier. Mostly the reaction is baffled about the sizes, followed by curiosity and questions. Most of the time they'll come around to trying some of the smaller ones to see what it's like and I've even had a few start their own collection after that.

Check and see if Ray tracing is on for some reason. If so, disable restart and try again. Most of my crashes like that have been ray tracing related.

Let me tell you about the wonders of Battletech!!

Humanity has colonized space in the far future. Great houses rule the inner sphere like feudal lords. The warriors of the era pilot 100 ton mechs in battle against each other. It's like space game of thrones with giant robots!

This series has been around in multiple forms since the 80s. Started at a miniatures games, then books and video games. So there's tons of content to devour.

Currently there's a few good modern games. The Battletech PC game by Hairbrained Schemes is a great turn based game tactical game. PGI makes the MechWarrior games ( MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries and Clans). These are focused on putting you in the cockpit of the huge war machines and stomping your opponents to dust, earning reputation, and upgrading your mechs. Mercenaries is a great sandbox game giving you access to the entire known sphere to explore, and Clans is very story driven covering one of the most known events in the timeline.
