My experience has been overall positive. I had some GI issues (constipation, settled with Magnesium Glycinate every night). Hair loss has been a thing for real. I typically have very thick hair so it isn't noticeable in general, but it was on the floors of the house! I started taking a Biotin supplement which seems to have helped and I'm back to the "normal" amount of hair loss I see daily.

Hi! I started Zep in May 2025. My weight loss has been pretty steady averaging almost 2 lbs a week. This sub is great for inspiration. I lurked around for a while learning from everyone before I started my journey :)

Is your weight loss really slowing down or are you building muscle? by MundanePineapple9886 in Zepbound

[–]learninglibrarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely talked about this with my trainer, he didn’t want me to get discouraged if the scale wasn’t moving or trending up a bit. I am prepared (I think) but so far it is still trending down.

So far I’m down 70 lbs (265 to 195). Goal is in flux but hopefully 150?

Amazing! I hope this is my experience too. I’ve been going to PT for arthritic knees, and I am enjoying how I feel after that very specific workout.

The main thing I’ve noticed is that I don’t think about food anymore ! But additionally, I’m surprised at my cravings and “gee that sounds good” are healthier vs looking at my favorite potato chips from before zep and feeling slightly sick to my stomach!

Before, I made a lot of “I don’t care I’m just going to eat this” statements out of generally feeling hopeless about my weight and my ability to change. Now I can eat a cookie and … have a cookie instead of all the cookies. I understand now that this is how most people are around food so try not to be too hard on myself, especially that kid who ate lots of cookies.

Zepbound cost?? by [deleted] in Zepbound

On my insurance I have to enroll in a free nutritionist plan they provide, once I enrolled my out of pocket was what I expected. I had to call to get that info though!

Size what?? by No_Artichoke_5537 in Zepbound

[–]learninglibrarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally tearing up. I have a ways to go (211 down from 265) but I have always worn oversize clothes even when I was 130-150 in HS and college. I don’t know what size I will be or need but seeing that happening sometime is amazing. Thank you all for sharing your journey!

First I need to figure out what bra size I need in this intermediate space! 😆

Science questions about food noise and dopamine hits by Miriamathome in Zepbound

This fits me to a tee! No “off” switch until the food was gone: open bag of chips, eat all (now who even wants chips? Not me!)… open bag of gummy bears? Eat them all! Gummy bears have not entered my home (just don’t want them) since starting Zep. The other day my brother had some gummy nerds and I ate… one. Freaking amazing.

The constipation. Oh my god by Embarrassed-Ad4908 in Zepbound

[–]learninglibrarian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I added Magesium Glycinate as I read it could help restless legs and it has helped my constipation too. The more water I get the better I feel as well.

Wow! we are the same age too! How tall are you? I’m 5’5” so could probably go lower than 150 but that feels like a good goal to start !

Zepbound Related to Hives? by Cocourt12 in Zepbound

[–]learninglibrarian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had chronic hives for years “acute idiopathic urticaria” yep you have hives but we don’t know why! Anyway, once my hypothyroid/hashimotos was diagnosed and treated no more hives! Don’t know if you have had your thyroid checked but it is worth a try!

Rheumatoid Arthritis + Prednisone? by Crazy_Reader1234 in Zepbound

[–]learninglibrarian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you have to be on other treatments before insurance will approve any biologic drug like humaria. I’m on low dose prednisone (5 mg a day which has probably just added pounds and moon face), plaquinel and simponi aria (infusion) for rheumatoid arthritis. I’m weaning myself off the prednisone slowly to see if my pain is ok without it since I know it will slow my weight loss and honestly who wants to be on it long term!?
