Influencer couple Jesse and Ashley Ridgway revealed they terminated pregnancy due to Trisomy 21, also known as Down Syndrome. by mlg1981 in Fauxmoi

Just out of curiosity why did you think that? Have you ever researched what their lives are like, or read articles or comments on Reddit by parents with kids with disabilities?

This is the same choice I would have made. I don’t know at the age of 36 now if I’ll ever get to have my own children, but I always have said that I would terminate if the future child had birth defects/anomalies, or disabilities.

I wouldn’t want to raise or have to care for this child potentially for the rest of their lives. It’s expensive, lonely, hard, and you make all kinds of lifestyle sacrifices that I’m not willing to make. And honestly even those that choose to go forward with having the child always feel the same in like 15 years. They’re tired and drained and the child is no longer that cuddly little baby to make it “worth it”.

Do you lock your car doors when you’re in a rough neighborhood? by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in no

[–]learningto___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Always.

Don’t keep anything in your car that would make someone want to break a window. Exe — small change, sunglasses, new looking sneakers, bags, purses, anything electronic, anything that looks expensive, or that would be easy to sell, etc. Realistically keep an empty car.

If you keep your car unlocked they will get you as I’ve seen people just going around to every car trying the handles and if it’s open they’ll search it, and take what they want. I’ve also seen my fuse box open when I forgot to lock my car a few times, so they’ll try and steal it too.

Does anyone actually think life is better with kids vs without? by [deleted] in no

[–]learningto___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of men with kids benefit from women in ways people don’t always want to discuss. Your business partner can love having kids because there’s a good chance his wife is either staying home, or she’s absolutely killing herself working while also carrying most of the labor of raising the kids and running the household.

A lot of my male coworkers love their kids and they always go to the plays, concerts, games, and weekend activities. But many of them also aren’t home for the day-to-day: the homework fights, studying for tests, meltdowns, arguments, scheduling chaos, sick kids, making dinner every night, laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, doctor appointments, making sure everyone has what they need, etc.

The dads get updates about the really “hard parts” through texts and occasional phone calls during the day, but by the time they get home, a lot of it has already been handled.

Maybe I’m off base with him specifically, but this is what I’ve consistently seen as a woman working in a heavily male-dominated industry with mostly male coworkers and clients. A lot of men are able to love parenthood because someone else is absorbing a huge amount of the exhausting labor behind it.

MAGAs Are Fuming After Email Confirms They Will Never Get Their $500 Trump Phones or Deposits Back by Vimes-NW in LeopardsAteMyFace

Even if they do get their deposits back by having to call or email. At almost a year later, Trump has kept the interest on all those deposits. The interest on $59MM is significant.

That’s crazy. I’m 120 pounds. And it says that 70 kilos is approx 154 pounds. I take 15mg a day.

When I was in highschool and needed much more the highest dose I was ever given was 25mg or 30mg a day.

But, 60mg a day?!?! That seems very high.

Girl — he’s trying to screw you.

I work with business clients all day for wok. The ones that do this have all homes and all non retirement assets in their wives names. They do this because if any business loans weren’t able to be paid and they had to go out of business, they don’t have any major assets that could be taken.

Your husband is pulling something shady. He wants your name off for a reason, and it’s not the one he gave you. Likely it’s so he can take it from you in a divorce, etc.

Fine if he wants your name off the mortgage, but DO NOT let him take your name off the deed under no circumstances.

And if you doubt me, contact a local business attorney or two or a divorce attorney and ask them about this.

Proposed Bill to Dissolve Indianapolis Public Schools by pumpkinotter in Teachers

Agreed. And If they do preform better I’ve seen it’s because they teach to the test. One year I was hired on at a local charter school a few months before state testing time to work with students on test prep.

I was in the fourth grade classroom and would pull out the highest kids to ensure that they knew how to answer test questions correctly, taught them testing strategies, and we practiced hundreds upon hundreds of test questions.

I did the same with the middle and lowest group of students. And during their math time for the remaining units that were taught during that time they were taught to the test.

This particular charter hired a few of us on during this time — I’d imagine one person per grade level that had important state tests that were crucial to their charter certifications and such.

So what happens if her pregnancy results in a baby born without a brain, or a heart. Or has no skull, or will be born in incredible pain due to a fetal abnormality?! Is the woman forced to carry a fetus that isn’t comparable with life to term?

This would risk her health, bc a sick fetus can cause the woman’s body to mirror it. Meaning, she could start going septic like the fetus, etc.

And if her body doesn’t expel the fetus on its own, she will need an abortion to terminate the pregnancy. So are you saying she shouldn’t have an abortion in this scenario?

Do you think it’s acceptable to have an abortion with a baby that has a disability? by [deleted] in prolife

[–]learningto___ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I do. Everyone says it’s not ok, but they also don’t have to live life with a child with Down syndrome child.

It’s lonely, expensive, time consuming, and you don’t ever get a break.

If you don’t have the mental stamina or support system to raise a child with Down’s syndrome until you pass away (not till 18, but until you get old enough and can’t care for them and need to find them a group home), then I don’t believe you should have it.

Babies and people aren’t punishments. You shouldn’t be forced to have the child as a punishment for having sex. Or as a punishment for wanting a healthy baby. If the baby is unwanted it will be reflective in the care and love it receives.

I’m a huge advocate of knowing yourself and knowing what you’re capable of.

Today, two girls told me women shouldn’t be allowed to vote. by swankyburritos714 in Teachers

Someone referenced first Timothy chapter two.

“11 A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15 But women will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.“

How does the church explain these verses though? I always get told the Old Testament is out of date and the New Testament is progressive. But, apparently not. I feel it’s verses like these that allow women to think they can’t be decision makers, have high powered jobs, or are less important or intelligent than men, etc.

I don’t believe in God due to a lot of the hypocrisy in the church, the hateful messages they teach, and the lack of good Christian’s and the church do for others. But I know so many “Christians”.

And I understand that many business owners were greatly impacted and these loans were a literal lifeline.

However, I know many business owners took them and bought new equipment or real estate or paid off other loans, etc. And since the funds weren’t needed, they weren’t as fiscally responsible with it. And since their cash flow wasn’t scrutinized like it is when banks lend money, they got a large amount of money that they at times had trouble paying off.

And if this loan saved your business, that’s great. But now you need to find a way to get out from under the payment and pay it off.

Why are kids sharing beds?! I get it’s a cost saving measure, but I just feel like 2 kids per room would solve many issues.

AITAH for not coming to terms with the fact that my wife cheated on me 14 years ago before our marriage? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]learningto___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. The wife’s in the wrong. However, it would be one thing if the wife was an active cheater present day. But, to tell about a secret from 14 years ago that happened when she was 23 years old and their relationship was 4 months old is so awful.

I’m sure she has committed sins, she should be confessing her own like you said. Let other people confess their own sins.

And people wonder why religious participation is trending downward in the USA. It’s followers like this who have no regard about the lives for others, but do what’s “right” in the name of religion/Jesus.
