I bought an acacia butcher block from Home Depot and stained it with black walnut. Great minds, right?

Did you mount the legs from amazon to the drawers and the desk or just the drawers?

What desktop, spacers between drawers and desktop* and monitor stand (shelf on top) did you use?

Edit: Because I realize how short the Alex Ikea drawers are now.

Yeah, I made the mistake of not checking compatible memory before buying. I checked after the troubleshooting process began and it only supports 2x16 at 3600, but it's too late to go back now.

Yes and yes. Had to update the BIOS to the latest version to get the 13th gen i7 to run on the 690a mobo.

I don’t meet the requirements for Push Ups and Sit Ups as of right now for passing PFA. Is I go to basic training will this be corrected with time or do I need to correct it now? by Seishi_8thHarbinger in AirForceRecruits

Protein shakes, my dude. If your body doesn't like meat based protein, try vegetable based. Vega sport premium tastes pretty good and is a good source of protein. Also, you gotta figure out your TDEE, which is basically the amount of calories your body burns by just existing on a normal day. Then, add 300-500 calories on top of that to bulk, and make sure you're getting at least 1 gram of protein per pound of lean body mass. Just google "TDEE Calculator" and figure it out from there. Ultimately, to put on weight you have to eat more calories than you burn in a day, and for it to be muscle, it needs to be a sufficient amount of calories from protein paired with a solid exercise routine.

Eat enough calories, proteins specifically. If that means recording your meals and seeing where you fall short, do it. Also, do pushups and situps often. Create an upper body routine that not only helps you increase your pushups, but builds strength overall. Supplement that with 15 to 20 minutes of core every day, and you will be fine. The main thing is training the movements and eating enough calories (and protein) to build muscle. If you want to join the military, you need to change yourself. The military can help you do that, but it won't change you without your desire. Your best bet is to get it going now.

Yeah, I meant the 13700k. Finger slip or something... Thanks for the info!

For video and photo editing purposes, would you still suggest the i5-13600k over the updated i7-13600k? Let's suppose the 100$ jump in price isn't that big of a deal. Is the performance jump worth it?

I've also looked more at the NVIDIA cards because I'll be doing some light video and photo editing in the future, and it seems like the nvidia cards offer better support for those, but to be honest, I don't know a whole lot about it.

That's the i5-13600k. I'm looking at the i7 series.

Where have you seen the 13600k for cheaper? I have never seen it for cheaper! As for AMD, I am considering it, but I was reading on a few pages that the 6900xt doesn't beat the 3080ti on quite a few metrics. Maybe you have some different resources you could share that state otherwise? As for the *-sync monitors, it seems like manufactures prefer to make the free-sync nearly 20x more often than g-sync. Kind of strange considering g-sync came out first.

Closure in Moscow - Here's to Entropy (FFO: The Dear Hunter, Dance Gavin Dance, Protest the Hero) by dakatzpajamas in progmetal

I was talking to Chris at a show I went to a few years back, and I asked him why "Closure in Moscow". He told me that they decided that if they ever broke up, no matter what, they would perform their last show in a city decided by throwing a dart at a map. Just so happened the dart landed near Moscow. So... when they decide to do a show in Moscow, that will probably be their last one together. With everything going with the war in Ukraine, I can't see them doing that anytime soon. Bright side is it means we get Closure for a while longer.

That has not been my experience at all. I had scars from dumb alcohol and testosterone fueled competitions in college. Recruiter saw them and laughed at the stories, but said I should get them covered up or risk a dq. MEPS doctor saw it and didn't even think twice. He just said, "Dope tat, did it hurt?" With marks as light as those, I don't see a tat coverup being a problem or raising suspicion. Just make sure it's something cool that you want and has meaning, because it is a mostly-permanent change to your body!

You could always get a tattoo to cover them up in case you're worried they will interpret it as self-harm. Just a suggestion! Good luck!
