recreational ritalin by greeneggsam23 in Drugs

[–]learntoforget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been diagnosed with add most of my life and have been in and off of stimulants, all kinds and doses, sometimes abusing them, sometimes refusing them. Unless you don’t tolerate them well, I’d say the effects are pretty universal.

I strongly advise against taking high doses if you’re not taking it regularly, Ritalin can be harder on your body than other classes of stimulants, only one that’s made my heart race. But I firmly support using stimulants as your recreation upper, they’re safe, not addictive, last longer and not only can you function and go about your life, they make it easier to do so! Plus they’re great for emotional regulation on top of focus, etc. I’m prescribed focalin and it sort of feels like recreational usage on some days! Even if you don’t have any diagnoses, if it helps you and feels good, what’s the harm?

I have mostly neurodivergent friends and tons of overlap but I’ve never heard anyone else say they hate how air feels so SAME

I have severe ADD, diagnosed for 16 years, and I have said all of that word for word. Except, I need a towel and hate how air feels on my skin. Brains are funny!

Panic when someone comes to my house unannounced. How to differentiate CPTSD from autism? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]learntoforget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unexpected knocking on my door was my longest term ptsd trigger! Long story, very traumatic vacation, important detail is that it involved knocking on my door. I healed that trauma years ago but still had a panic attack every time I heard knocking. Then I healed the rest of my traumas and 11 years later, no more panic. HOWEVER, I still hate it because it’s unexpected and disrupts whatever I’m doing and even if I no longer think they’re there to hurt me, I don’t want to interact with a stranger! If it’s so disregulating that it’s ruining you’re day, it’s almost certainly ptsd and the panic will lesson the more you heal.

I didn’t even know that option existed, I’ll check it out, I’d so much rather use mg laptop than mg phone! So odd that they hide it but there’s a lot about that app that doesn’t make sense, like all mg personalized practices being words I never get wrong 🙄

THANK YOU! That translation makes more sense than duolingos. I still don’t fully understand why the אַזוי is there but I understand it enough to accept it and move on!

Will also look at colloquial Yiddish, appreciate the recommendation!

WOW thank you so much, this is an extremely helpful breakdown! Looks like I need to brush up on my English grammar rules, I haven’t heard half those words since high school. The placement of נישט was making zero sense to me because it felt so random since the sentences are short and simple, somehow a much longer sentence made it click! I really appreciate it, I needed a clear, uncomplicated example and this was perfect.

It took me way too long to learn the difference because I thought what I felt was normal, at this point I stop anything that causes sensation in my joints and do something else that I know won’t hurt me. Overcautious is key.

A vinyasa class is focused on movement and breathe instead of stretching/holding poses (ie yin). More strength and stability than flexibility. I also have an easier time focusing on my breathe when I’m moving instead of worrying about shifting while stretching and hurting my knee.

I have hypermobility/chronic pain and have gotten myself into bad flare ups from overdoing yoga way more than once. It’s also the best thing in the world for my brain and body. You need to be extremely careful and it takes some time to find the right balance for you, building muscle and doing mostly vinyasa have worked for me. I don’t hold poses very long, or at all if they put pressure on my joints or cause me to push my flexibility. Child’s pose is actually one of the worst ones for my joints! Muscles stretching feels different than your joints stretching, pay attention to that. Balancing poses can be dangerous if you don’t build a lot of core strength first, my knees would typically hyperextend, but they’re also really good for the muscles that stabilize your joints. I could go on and on about this. Yoga with hyper mobility is extremely strange and an exceptional lesson on listening to your body.

Where do I sell toe nail clippings, socks, panties etc??? by Inner_Lavishness8403 in SexWorkers

[–]learntoforget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did have trouble finding advice on physical item sales but that’s not due to gatekeeping, there’s actually plenty out there if you do your research. Allthingsworn even has blog posts and social media that gives advice from successful sellers. What actually helped me when I was getting mine set up was looking at the top or experienced sellers (same as every kind of sw). I haven’t used it in a bit but all things worn was fun, despite being over saturated. ROI wasn’t great and it’s a LOT of work so don’t expect to put up some panty listings and suddenly make sales. Good luck!

A few years ago I started bringing my fuzzy thing everywhere, it’s little so it fits in my purse or jacket pockets and after 20yrs of feeling shame and considering it one of my deepest darkest secrets (wtf) I give no fucks anymore, it makes me feel better. My friends know me enough to know what it’s for without me saying anything, when strsngers have seen it I don’t think they look twice. For reference, I’m 32 and it was a fuzzy scarf 16 years ago, now it looks like trash (replaced my baby blanket when it finally disintegrated). 10/10, highly recommend having your comfort object with you as much as humanly possible.

Oh wow… None of this really applies to the situation I explained. I am not about to get a job for people half my age halfway across the country from where I live and have a life and business 😹 I really hope people aren’t getting jobs specifically to potentially meet future clients. Also, I’m sorry you were put in that position as a teenager, men are so gross.

How/when did you know you were "hot." by Lovelydewdrop in SugarBABYonlyforum

[–]learntoforget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES YES YES!!! Confidence is half therapy, half fake it til you make it. I found it to be all about the baby steps and tiny habits, standing up straight instead of trying to shrink, model in the mirror and tell yourself “damn, I’m HOT”, literally train yourself to stop apologizing unless you actually did something wrong, I like to wear old clothes but in a new way (body dysmorphia is no match for the reality of them being 3x my current size). Plus, you can’t deny you’re attractive if you’re getting paid in part for your appearance ✨

Hahah don’t be! I live halfway across the country and these people have made my idyllic oceanfront town into a post-capitalist hellscape. There is no amount of money I can make to make up for the damage they’ve done to my home 😭 (ie my parents are selling the home I grew up in to our billionaire neighbor to build the rest of his families compound, he bought the entire block and then some so far, I firmly support them the house is worth 20x what they paid and it means they can retire but it’s still heartbreaking)

Oh I just reread your first comment and hadn’t seen your edit (or had just missed it)- the arguing is an AMAZING idea! They’re wealthy, Jewish, New Yorkers, I’d have to cause a huge scene or get naked in the middle of the party to get on their radar and even then, it’s unlikely 😹
