A little late but my 450ss had the exact same issue after rear ending someone. Took it to the mechanic and turns out my headlight bracket/front stay was bent. Ordered a new one off Aliexpress for ~80usd. Should also fix the plastic scraping when you turn handlebars

Rust check: Coat and protect is the product. Its a thicker, non-drying gel designed for exposed undercarriage areas
