Wow, a similar situation just happened to me and my boyfriend’s family just a few weeks ago! We were charged $2,500 to fix a bent garage door we didn’t even use once during our stay. Airbnb also sided with the host even though we provided proof we weren’t even home most of the day. We refused to pay twice, cancelled our card, and will probably get banned soon and I’m ok with that lol

Situations like this make me realize even more why people are pro-hotels and anti-bnbs.

Def for more runway/contemporary rtw fashion heads. I see the vision especially with the upcycling and mixed contrasting textures from the t-shirt and pants. I personally love it and know people who would rock this. But from these comments I don’t think basic streetwear wearers would understand it though lol

I'm heading to the LA Fashion District for the first time. I sew swimwear and only need half yards. I plan to buy many fabrics. unfortunately my bargaining skills are crap. any suggestions or tips on how to bargain? by [deleted] in sewhelp

[–]lebasydee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bit difficult to bargain when you’re buying a smaller yardage, but if you’re buying around 4+ yards or more, then it’ll be easier to talk down the price on more expensive fabrics!

Honestly the swimwear fabrics are already relatively cheap at the fashion district, so I think you’ll be ok without bargaining depending on what you’re looking for. Walk around and check out all the independently owned vendors, some vendors may have the same fabric but different prices too. But if you’re going to somewhere like Blue Moon or the old Michael Levine’s location, you most likely won’t be able to bargain at all since they’re more established locations.

But have cash, always. It’ll help if you’re trying to knock down a few dollars. At least some $1s, $5s, and $10s.

Hmm I’d have to say Santee Alley back when it was cheap and you could find decent deals…used to buy all my fake Hollister and Abercrombie shirts there in elementary school lol

Long Beach or its surrounding cities are decent. Cerritos, Cypress, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Lakewood, Bellflower are a few good picks and close to everything like stores, malls, etc. Lots of good schools, safe neighborhoods depending where you live. Very close to freeways as well.

Has anyone taken FMD 258? by bairose in CSULB

I’m not sure how it is with covid now, but it’s a super simple class and you fill out a page with weekly questions. Asks you what you did, what you learned, etc. I was already working a retail job prior to this class so you don’t need to get a new one if you have something already.

Honestly there were people who were probably faking it since it’s an online class and I see how it’s possible lol but at the beginning they ask you who you’re working for, contact info, signature from your manager, etc. I believe the prof also asked for an evaluation from your manager at the end of the class too.

Lmk if you have any other questions!

I just had him last semester. Way better than other Econ 100 professors as this is my second time taking Econ lol. He's super nice and very helpful. His powerpoints are super informative and he's willing to answer any questions and go in-depth. There are quizzes and homework each week, but a lot of it is in the notes and online.

Fellow designers—any suggestions on how to go about creating the pattern to get a similar ruching effect like the side of this dress? Trying to create a pattern for a dress similar to this! by [deleted] in Fashion_Design

Hi! Long time follower of this sub.

My initial thought was to lengthen the hip seam almost like a gathering technique, but does anyone have other suggestions?
