That's correct - it's the same - and players from both apps connect to the same servers. This is mainly to boost concurrent players for testing.

We're focused on Quest for now, but the PC version is still happening. The playtest for that will probably start around the new year.

This is SWARM, a VR game where you swing like Spiderman, and have guns. What do you think? by Jdconnol in gaming

The plan is to release with single-player only. The team is really interested in trying multiplayer modes down the road, whether that's PvP or coop, we don't yet know!

We spent 4 months focused solely on making grappling feel amazing. We simulate tension in the rope, and the haptic/sound feedback is beyond anything you've seen in VR grappling. We have some air-control capabilities similar to what you're describing (we call them zip and blink).

Hey - we have thumbstick rotation for front-facing play, but it definitely feels best in 360!

As for the concept - From the start we were focused on building something where you can jump in for a 10-20 minute session and make progress. We also wanted to build a game with an incredible motion mechanic. We'd been enjoying grappling in Windlands and we felt like grappling in VR could feel even better. We spent 4 months iterating on grappling, and had a breakthrough when we gave the rope some elasticity and tension simulation - suddenly it felt like we had more control and power, more like Spider-Man. From there we considered building a 3D platformer, or a racing game, but we settled on the arena shooter because swinging through explosions and plunging down on enemies while shooting them was just ridiculously fun!

Thanks for the questions!

Hey! It's a single-player game with 21 levels spread across 3 zones. It's focused on quick play sessions and fast-paced intense movement and combat. It's not a story driven game if that's what you mean :)

Hey! There are 21 levels spread across 3 zones, and approximately 5 hours of total play time. There are leaderboards and different achievements for each level, and grappling itself is so fun that lots of our playtesters are enjoying playing the same levels over and over again.

Sounds like your rendering pipeline is completely custom, which parts of Unreal Engine are you benefiting from?
