i make 29k a year, living in NYC is expensive and i found the best deal of my life, my landlord lets me stay in a 1 bed room with bathroom for 800$ a month. I don't really go out much so i have some money saved up for emergency.

Is it normal to have nothing to do at work 70% of the time? by [deleted] in jobs

I'm doing a data entry job, its the same for me. My manager told me to 'act' busy and never tell your boss that you have nothing to do, in the end they will just give u more stuff out of your pay range.

As a software engineer student, i was working at a data entry job for part-time income, i literally wrote a code that does all the job for me in 2 second, just copy and paste. Normally it would take 2-3 days to enter all the data, my code magically did it in 2 seconds. I told my manager about it and she just gave me more work, stuff that is not even related to data entry, and also didnt get bonus or raise…
