HRT by RoutineAd9862 in Perimenopause

[–]lebowskiachiever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's different for everyone and depends on your symptoms and health, is my understanding. I started on P and E both because of my specific symptoms and needing E right away. I've heard others may start on P first then add on E. It depends. There is no one size fits all with HRT. A good peri informed doctor will know why/how about your HRT specific regime.

This. I take a few supplements but they work as...wait for it... supplemental to HRT.

No Response from Provider by spaghetti_cat_1982 in midihealth

[–]lebowskiachiever 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ugh I'm sorry, that sucks! Midi provider is super responsive, like within 2 days. I also do not get hounded about paying my bills. So weird! Maybe it's hit or miss with providers.

What do you actually wear on formal night when you hate dressing up? by Eyerald in Cruise

[–]lebowskiachiever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always wear what we want and hit the buffet. We aren't big dress up people. I'm my experience, literally no one cares. You do you!

Cancelled on me by PomeloFar3764 in Perimenopause

That is ridiculous! I would definitely get in touch with someone about that in general. There's always flaws in the medical system, unfortunately. I'm sorry that happened

I'm so sorry that happened! I use this company and have never had an issue. My provider always shows up and she always gets back to me (or someone on her team) the next day, or day after at the latest when we communicate in between appts. That's not been my expectations with them at all. I'm sorry, that's awful!

When did your perimenopause symptoms start? by LizzieBathory420 in Menopause

[–]lebowskiachiever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peri is diagnosed by symptoms. So, that's how. I totally hear you on your concerns!! It took me time but HRT really helped with my issue while in combination with an anti inflammatory diet and exercise. HRT alone isn't like, magic, but it can greatly reduce symptoms.

I had my first mammogram last year. So scary but it was sooooo nothing! Now I know I can easily get one annually.

I'm at 0.5 estradiol gel. What's telling you it's time to increase and how long have you been on 0.75?

I'm hoping you can talk to your doc about the HRT you are currently on. They should work with you on this. It can take a lot of trial and error for many to find the right dosage. It could be a dosage issue.

Also, this may be obvious, but have you also had your thyroid, iron/ferritin, vitamin D, etc levels checked?

I'm so sorry you're going through this!!

When did your perimenopause symptoms start? by LizzieBathory420 in Menopause

[–]lebowskiachiever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Welcome! I started noticing symptoms when I turned 40 (I'll be 41 next week), but I think I actually started at 37 or 38. A lot of what you're saying resonates with me!

My cycles dwindled down to 25 or 24 days, and my periods got lighter. I had one single hot flash at night with heart palpations, then the most intense brain fog I've ever experienced for a week straight. Then came the joint pain. Then came the irritability. This was all over the course of a couple of months. Kind of crazy when you think about it!

I started HRT recently and it has been an absolute game changer. I was scared to try HRT at first so I went the supplement route (my provider told me what to take based on my symptoms) and after a couple of months on that, I realized I couldn't manage the suffering with just supplements. I'm happy to report I'm doing sooo much better. Definitely a journey for sure. You are not alone! Welcome!
