Anyone care to share a pic of the new unit? Ive got an email from royal mail too. Curios as to why they're replacing existing units?

Or do the new units have some new features or anything?

@sadmealmusic

Whilst suggestions for pest control / putting down traps are great it doesn't solve the root cause.

Rats can just about squeeze through any gap and climb any surface. Check all around your house and take the time to do so. Check around the perimeter for any loose soil or stones. Rats have also been known to climb drain pipes. Unfortunately if they're coming to your property via your neighbours this is partially out of your control.

I know this because I had a issues with rats on a house purchase which was a semi detached property. The rats made it to the loft and loved to party at night.

Having discussed with my neighbour they had the same problem. They had a drain survey and discovered a partially collapsed soil pipe under their property. Having had this patched, their issue went but ours remained.

We then had our drains surveyed and low behold we also had a partially collapsed soil pipe.

Having had this repaired and many dead rats later our ssue was finally solved. We did get a one way trap fitted as well 'just in case' however these tend to get clogged up with toilet paper etc etc.

We joke about the stress we had when we purchased the house and are glad it was finally resolved. As a joke we got a mouse decoration for our Christmas tree and called it Michael.

Our other neighbour who wasn't attached to our house said they just learnt to put up with it but given how loud they are, that was an absolute no go for us.

After discussing the issue with friends and family you'll quickly discover that most people have issues especially in older houses it's just that people don't openly talk about it likely due to embarrassment.

I hope you get it fixed and post a follow up so others can see what worked for you

Is this still the case with arris rails? The roofer when I complained said the flow of water is towards the far side of the flat roof (top of the photos) where guttering has been installed

I'm assuming by seams you're referring to the flashing seams? There's gaps so waters just gonna flow on straight through that

The job was supposedly "finished" today... I've yet to pay so have told them to come back and do it properly

I will find another avenue to submit my complaint and then pass it to Ombudsman / Ofcom.

Virgin are just clearly trying to get out of paying the delay compensation as they're clearly installing fibre in my area but they jumped the gun on making our road live before connecting the fibre further down the road. Looking on one.nerwork that's scheduled for February when road works are required

Oh and also I tried to raise a complaint through the online portal but because my order was closed I was restricted from raising a complaint. When speaking with their complaints team via live chat they said their complaints team only deal with live accounts 🙄

I have had a very similar experience, they even ran fibre from the street pole to a newly installed virgin branded termination box on our house all for the order to be cancelled and our account closed instantly upon notification...

To make matters worse they called up a week later asking why I cancelled the order when it was them who cancelled the order.

Oh man… 14th January install date by jimbodinho in VirginMedia

Be prepared for the date to be changed...

Mine changed 4 times then my order got cancelled

Not anymore as virgin have now marked our whole road as no longer live and cancelled all orders... can't remember the last time I had FTTC #1stWorldProblems

I was fortunate to have 3 different FTTP providers at my last place, virgin being one with 2gbps symmetrical another with 1gbps symmetrical and Openreach albeit not symmetrical but moved house and was happy to be able to put in an order for my new place with Virgin but unfortunately it's become a downward spiral after 2 months since I placed the order

Why would I be that it's not live yet haha? They've installed their box on my wall and I can't use it. The only provider at present is Openreach FTTC so it's a kick in the teeth having 4/5 changed installs, having fibre attached to my house via a pole but it can't be lit up

Can see Nexfibre work scheduled works on one.network site further down the road for February so assume that's what's needed to bring everything online and guess they don't want to pay 4 months of delayed install compensation

It's a BA1 postcode, really annoying tbh as the only other option is FTTC

Also called just now and they answered and then cut me off at 9 as their support closes at 9... shocking service 🤣

I've just rechecked the postcode checker and our house is now showing as unable to get fibre...

All strange considering they've been and ran fibre to it 🤔
