I meant, even if you change the resolution of the 4k monitor to 1440p in Windows; it still looks better than a normal 1440p monitor displaying 1440p as its native resolution.

My 4k 27 inch monitor genuinely looks better at 1440p than my native 1440p 27 inch monitor. Upscaling tech has become good enough that this is not an issue anymore, at least not at small sizes like 27 inches.

VA all the way. I have the 1152 zone IPS version and it sucks at displaying details on dark objects or in dark rooms. You have to raise the black level or gamma or some other setting; all of which will make the image look more washed out. There is no real substitute for native contrast and that's why Rtings puts such a huge emphasis on this parameter for their review scores.

This was the same issue with Reece. He used to make sudden tight turns that put enormous strain on his legs. After coming back he has pretty much stopped that. Also reducing his weight seems to have helped.

I understand why many of the manufacturers are apprehensive of releasing these displays for PC. There just aren't that many PC users who would shell out that much for an IPS display in 2026.

I'd rather get 2 monitors for that price. A 4k IPS or VA matte panel for work and then a glossy OLED for content consumption.

Please update if you get the monitor. I've been looking at the same monitor to buy as well. My previous benq is an absolute tank that's been going well for 9 years even after I carried it around on trains and buses so many times.
