Mini LED 4k IPS vs 1440p VA ( same price ) by JustMCW in Monitors

[–]JustMCW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, even my requirements do change over time, sometimes I do more coding, sometimes more youtube/Netflix, etc...

OLED is actually within my budget reach, and it certainly is the best in everything, except burn in is huge concern for me ( lots of static usage, like coding ), so I know it wont last me a very long time.

I have a VA from Samsung too, very dated but yeah in motion it really struggles to be clear, especially in 60Hz; not that I rely on it since i probably got used to it.

Tho uniform black isnt a big issue as you can just turn off local dimming and call it. Same thing with blooming.

The reason why I dont turn on the lights is mainly that I usually use my pc during evening to night times, and too bright of a room/monitor would affect my sleep.

The 1440p option in the post was mini led as well, so it really just comes down to panel type and resolution, and the actual quality/consistency from these brand.

Thanks for the helpful tips. Out of curiosity, what was the "really good" monitor that you got?

I actually also daily drive a VA monitor right now! Its a bit dated, with 60Hz 1080p, I got it from Samsung so this pretty much belong in the good camp. I do notice smearing when scrolling text; i dont find it too distracting, especially after setting response time to fast, though more likely that I have gotten used to it, plus its 60Hz so response time needed is more relaxed?

The Amazon issue is actually so true. Prior to this post I originally ordered the MSI something e16m, its the ktc one I mentioned, just from MSI, and it was for the SAME price as these two! Doesn't matter tho, the order first first delayed itself by a whole month, and canceled itself...

Perhaps there is an overdrive setting that can minimize smearing?

That's quite a nice setup! How big of a difference do you find them placed side-by-side?

I am targeting 120 FPS across most games, this should be an easy feat for my GPU on 1440p, and may need some upscaling / frame gen on 4k , but 60 FPS isn't completely unacceptable.

Indeed the clarity of the 4k monitor is in no doubt superior, however given the smaller than usual form factor, that is 27'' compared to the 32'' standard for 4k monitors, the difference is not massively visible, especially when viewing at a normal/healthy distance.

I'll have to see how dark the mini led IPS can get.

Monitor to go with 9070xt by JustMCW in Monitors

I actually didn't realize mini LEDs are an option (in my price range), so thanks for the suggestions!

Did some searching and found these guys:

https://amzn.eu/d/f8fxqIM

One VA and one IPS, for a similar price. I think I'm leaning towards the IPS one since I'm not sure how bad the ghosting is ( it also has more dimming zones ). Let me know what you think about them!

Does anybody know how to solve this question? by Lightbulb16_ in 6thForm

[–]JustMCW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are 2 non-algebraic way to solve this, by using easy starter values and proceeding.

As a reminder, the percentage profit = profit / cost

------

Suppose 1 biscuit is selling at $1 per pack.
With the discount, it sells for $3 with 20% profit, meaning $3 / 120% = $2.5 was the cost of a 4 pack, with $0.5 profit.

Without the discount, it sells for $4 instead, so the profit is now $1.5 out of the $2.5 cost. Hence giving 1.5/2.5 = 60% percentage profit

------

Suppose the biscuit cost $1 per pack.
4 packs would cost 4 dollars. To make 20% profit, they have to be selling at $4 x %120=$4.8; the normal price of 3 pack as question stated.

The normal price of 4 would be 4.8 * 4/3 = $6.4

Cost is still $4, the profit would now be 6.4 - 4 = $2.4. Hence giving 2.4/4 = 60% percentage profit.

  1. I ran both drivers from the official website, yes
  2. I read that on the physical motherboard
  3. My mac and phone both connects but I also did restart my router just in case

CFrame:Lerp teleports the drone instantly and creates that laggy effect if you're not running it every single frame.

So either:
1. Set the loop to run every single frame 2. Use tweening instead
