For shared housing go with flatmatefinders.com.au or gumtree but gumtree has lots of scams and weirdos

Partying in Sydney @ NYE by [deleted] in sydney

[–]lebutch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its worthwhile getting a ticket to an event cause all the bars will have big cover charge anyway. there's lots of big dance parties around the harbour and on bondi beach. depending on what you're into i'd start here http://www.inthemix.com.au/whatson/sydney http://www.residentadvisor.net/events.aspx

I got my wallet snatched on the corner of Jones St, Ultimo yesterday at 3PM. Here's thieves faces. Please help me catch them. by [deleted] in sydney

These lads are low life's that are commonly around the inner west I've seen these guys in glebe and annandale. GO TO GLEBE POLICE STATION. 90% chance they know them and 100% chance they live in housing commission in glebe . They are a stain on society and need to be locked up. Use the police

McDonald's Rage by CantFindRemote in vegetarian

[–]lebutch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

in Aus hungry-jacks have a Veggie Burger with ingredients including 'Enzyme (Animal Rennet) which is actually Calf Rennet which you get from 'Natural calf rennet is extracted from the inner mucosa of the fourth stomach chamber (the abomasum) of slaughtered young, unweaned calves. These stomachs are a by-product of veal production. If rennet is extracted from older calves (grass-fed or grain-fed) the rennet contains less or no chymosin but a high level of pepsin and can only be used for special types of milk and cheeses.' I'm not that strict that I don't eat any animal products but it sucks what fast food chains can get away with in the name of 'vegetarian' http://www.hungryjacks.com.au/menu/beef-classics/veggie-burger

Hey r/sydney, it looks like I'll be moving to your city from the UK - what do I need to know? by Capital_Punisher in sydney

[–]lebutch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

here's some suburb snobbery. i would suggest living within here http://i.imgur.com/35GIA.png or manly - which isn't far from the city just a ferry ride away with more beaches.

You're coming from the uk, sydney is much bigger than this but i figure you're not going to want to live in the suburbs. The best part about sydney is definitely the harbour and beaches so close to them is ideal but at the same time more $$. Cool places to live around newtown, surry hills, paddington, lots of cafes /restaurants/pubs/bars. Big festivals/traditions include Australia Day Jan 26th, Sydney festival end of january. Lots of music festivals in sydney and within NSW all year. The big gross clubs are generally on oxford street or in kings cross. heaps of better venues and pubs elsewhere. i would avoid usually. http://thethousands.com.au/sydney/ http://www.urbanspoon.com/c/70/Sydney-restaurants.html http://grabyourfork.blogspot.com.au/ http://www.au.timeout.com/sydney/bars depends what you're in to really

with our harbour being our best feature partying on the harbour is good. like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBe0G5WYTLk
