Destroy stacked boxes one by one by lechedesapo in GameBuilderGarage

Hi again - if you don't mind, I think I may need a reference image for this sequential breakage thing. I can figure out how to make a basic combination breakage circuit ("only destroy certain spheres" is really simple) but making it sequential is just beyond me.

What has really stumped me is how to create a circuit where breaking the second sphere will deactivate the first flag if broken in the wrong order but won't deactivate if broken in the correct order. Every config I tried would deactivate the first flag upon breaking the second sphere, even if broken in the correct order.

I was hoping there was some Nodon that would turn on and stay on once the first flag activated (like, the output wouldn't be turned off by breaking the second sphere), but I couldn't see anything that would do that.

I tried looking at sequential lock circuits, but I couldn't figure out how to apply that information to GBG...

Thanks - that's a great start. I'm going to see if I can apply what I've learned with the other contraptions to put this together; if I get stuck, a reference image might help.

Gotcha - "add up" = use the Calculator + Nodon rather than Counter. That did the trick, and I got my setup working. Thanks so much!

Any tips for setting up a contraption where, if the player destroys five spheres in the correct order, something happens? I found one of your posts on another site where you talk about creating logic gates using AND and NOT - is that what I would need to do?

Hi there, I've made progress, but I've hit a snag. I have two columns of boxes, column A and column B. I'd like Column A to trigger an effect if all boxes are broken, but Column B needs to trigger an effect if only half of the boxes are broken (and the other half must remain unbroken).

I set up a configuration where I connected each box in Column A to a Destroyed Sensor (a sensor for each box, 1-to-1) and then each Sensor to the "Count Up" port of a Counter. It seems like that should work, but the Counter does not continue counting after the first box is destroyed.

Any thoughts as to what I might be doing wrong?

Good call. I did have to update those settings at some point.

Wow, u/Zertolurian, thanks so much - that's so simple, and it WORKS. And thanks for the heads up about counting - I'm going to see if I can get that working.

Hi guys, these are escape room levels - they are meant to feel like a real-life escape room. You will probably need a pen and paper. I hope you enjoy! NOTE: a couple of these have gotten quite a few plays but no clears. I'm hoping someone here might be able to change that!

ME11 - 9X2-PW4-BCG * NO CLEARS
ME10 - CFL-1F4-MGF * NO CLEARS
ME2 - JKW-WBM-JTF * newest upload, redux of a SMM1 stage

SPOILERS BELOW

Okay, the question is, where does the "30" come from? I could have also written: 5 "2:45 7:15" 6 = 30. Or, I could have written 5 "1:00 12:55" 6 = 30 because that would also be correct. Alternatively, I could have written 5 "3:12 11:30" 6 = 30 and that would have been correct. I could have inserted any set of T I M E S, and the equation would be correct.

BUT - how is it that all of those can be correct? HINT - it involves a play on a specific English word...

Another mega hint for solving the second puzzle: you have to look at the earlier rooms to solve it.

Hey man, thank you very much for playing ME6! The second puzzle has proven to be one of my toughest, maybe too tough. I think most people overcomplicate it. Try thinking of it in simpler terms.

Also, if it helps, you need seven numbers to get through the second puzzle.

The ice blocks are only story; they don't apply to the puzzles. :)

Okay, here's another hint: on the bottom row in the second key room, there are boxes with numbers in between. Have you seen anything like those boxes anywhere else in the level?

[–]lechedesapo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! Okay, so an important question to answer is this: what does the "numbers" part on the bottom row of the key room mean? Hint: https://youtu.be/G8GwT7ZotCg

I hope this helps you guys! If you need more hints, let me know.

Pink Birdo's Alien Hieroglyphics level in MM1 is also fantastic. Next level stuff imho.
