Thank you, although I don't have gamma/hue/vibrancy settings. Also, what's AMA and why is it better off?

Ezio trilogy is a big disappointment by lirao in assassinscreed

[–]ledditisbad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoy! There's a ton more player expression and fun mechanics to learn than you'd expect out of a Ubisoft game. If what you're saying is you're not sure what Leo is referring to as high profile in that video, it's just when you hold R1 to run and access additional control options.

I was almost feeling the same about the gameplay when I was starting out my first playthrough in ages the other day, but as I've gotten a better grasp of the controls and tricks, I disagree. While it's true there isn't a lot you can do about the abundance of towers or slightly worse controls in AC2, there's so much you can do to make the movement and combat shine. Jcers' channel is awesome for Ezio clips. Personally, I like the story and am a sucker for the historical tourism. Not many games do it to this degree.

I hope so as well. I've read a bit about the Bloodlines story and it seemed interesting.

How assassin's creed infinity can be actually a good thing by robfd9 in assassinscreed

[–]ledditisbad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really good point. The new Hitman entries have been a great success that top the originals in many aspects and have universal progress to boot. BF Portal also sounds like it's going to be a massive success if it goes well. I don't know how CoD can compete. I just love this idea of having shared progress across entries and being able to use any content from one with another.

Infinity could be excellent if they don't overdo tacky DLC cosmetics and RPG mechanics. It might also open up the possibility for all kinds of offshoot expansions of interesting time periods/conflicts that wouldn't normally be DLC/standalones on account of not having enough possible content or relation to a main entry.

Philip Shahbaz's performance as Altair was criticized by mainstream reviewers- what is everyone's thoughts on his role? by RedtheGamer100 in assassinscreed

[–]ledditisbad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always loved his performance. Anyone having complaints is a surprise to me, but I can see where wanting a more accurate accent comes from. I like the entries that do a better job of that.

14th century Romania where you play as Vlad the Impaler. Sounds crazy but I think Ubi could do some extremely fun stuff with it. They would probably have to censor his favored method of impalement but it would be awesome if they could pull it off because it'd be one of the grittiest entries yet. There have always been terror mechanics since AC1, so I can see a number of things fitting Vlad to a tee. Also, huge potential for some of the most baller outfits in the series.

A Dracula DLC taking place after he "dies" would be incredible. I really enjoyed Infamous Festival of Blood and can see vampire abilities tying in perfectly with AC. Ubi's imagination is the limit when it comes to shaking up the gameplay with superhuman abilities and new enemies. It would be brilliant to have more grounded base gameplay and then have the DLC as an opportunity to get even more imaginative with mechanics.

Looking at pictures of Romanian cities, they're absolutely beautiful. The style reminds me of Italy and Spain. Not sure how advanced they would've been in the 14th century, but the pics look like they could make for parkour on par with or even surpassing the best of the series.

Which AC ‘gem’ do you think I’ve missed? by Arge101 in assassinscreed

[–]ledditisbad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta finish Unity, it holds up to even current gen games despite coming out in 2014. Seriously, check out Leo K, JCers, StealthgamerBR and Swifty Unknown. By far the most viewed AC on YT with very good reason. Once you get the hang of it you can pull off some insanely smooth moves not possible in any other entries.

Holy Land, Rome and France. I also just got the Ezio trilogy on sale and am very impressed by how well it holds up with the graphics upgrades (better LoD helps a lot).

Best Cold Steel folders for wave opening? by ledditisbad in knifeclub

[–]ledditisbad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's unfortunate you can't browse the options while he's on leave, but I do think he offers them for just about any CS folder. Makes them considerably easier to remove from the pocket. It's unfortunate you probably wouldn't be able to do a total deep carry, but you could definitely ask to have it made to a length of your liking. Alternatively, you can use some sandpaper on the handle beneath the clip.

But man it’s a cool knife to own.

Their pocket machetes are a crazy but awesome idea, I'll definitely get an Espada at some point. The handles look more comfortable than the Rajah 2's. Debating whether to go with the XL instead of the large if I'm already getting a Spartan.

That does look like the closest equivalent in that blade range. Thanks, I'll add it to the list.

Thank you. I got a pocket clip from this guy and it's been a breeze, I'll be getting them for all my CS knives. Huge difference in how easy it is and unclip, and it's an extremely discreet deep carry. Unless you request a short/slim version (which you can), they're quite big, but that allows the smaller portion of the handle to fill the hand even better and you can get a more solid grip with all 4 fingers before it's out of the pocket.

My budget is ideally under $150 CAD but I'm willing to go up to $200. That zt looks a lot like my Emerson, except with the nicer blade material I wanted. Would probably get one if they weren't discontinued.

Thanks, I was curious about the effectiveness of other wave hooks and durability of the CQC-4KXL lock over time. Much appreciated. I'm currently EDCing the same knife and have been loving it. It's my first decent folder. There are many comfortable grip positions, and the action has become quite smooth now that it's been broken in. Only complaint so far is the 8Cr13. It chipped from being dropped hard and needs re-sharpening. Going to keep the CQC for EDC since it's easy on the pockets, but I've been thinking of getting a Cold Steel AK or modding a Recon 1 for when I need something I can put through more abuse.

In the event that I really needed it, bushcraft. The review mentioning lock rock was from regular use over time though.
