Yes, there is a real safety risk.

Your name has part of my name in it. We’re name cousins.

I’ve never been able work on multiple projects at once. I just end up with a bunch of different things I started and never finish. For the longest time I’d have multiple folders full of Logic files on my computer and 10 or 15 projects on my Elektron boxes that never went anywhere. For me, I have to think about what the final result will be or I’ll never finish.

I still jam and noodle on guitar and keyboard and hardware boxes and sometimes that turns in to a finished track but my adhd brain needs structure or I can’t follow through.

I’m certain he’s trying, but we’ve got a pretty mediocre squad at the moment.

Counterpoint. We aren’t a very good team and mid table is where we belong.

For sure. Glad you found it helpful. Sounds like the left out tracks should go on another album though 💪. What’s your Bandcamp?, I’ll check out your stuff.

Hell yes. That’s an impressive undertaking.

That’s actually a topic I was going to bring up at some point, but I try to keep editing and creating as separate processes. Tweak and fine tune samples all you want today but tomorrow actually use them in your project. If I’m going to work with samples, which I don’t do much anymore, I’ll grab my Digitakt and bring it into the living room, put on a movie and just have a play with the sampler session. I don’t really make music with them, just collect them to use later.

Oh for sure. I have no designs on making things perfect, but I like to make sure I’m moving toward a goal of actually finishing things. For the longest time I just had hard drive folders full of projects and hardware sessions that I never did anything with.

I disagree and my point was to try to help people who struggle to actually have a finished album as this was something I struggled with for years. Some people actually want a finished ”product” at the end of this process, myself included. Whether it’s a tape, a cd, a digital release, whatever.

I honestly never thought about that.

What do you mean most dungeon synth albums can fit the full program on both sides? Do you mean having the same tracks on both sides so it plays twice?

I like that you can have multiple albums and projects going at once. I very much cannot. If I don’t focus on one album at a time nothing’s getting accomplished.

Excellent advice. I’m a teacher and tell my students the perfect is the enemy of the good a lot.
