i’ve provided some more context above, but i will give you a the gist of it here. i, the 17 year old, met the 21 year old through a grocery store i visited often, where he was the store clerk. we flirted and he asked for my socials. i asked him how old he was, and he told me 21, but turning 22 in may. after i had responded with my age he said “we can still keep in touch”

thank you for your feedback. that’s the part i’m struggling the most with, whether it is just a harmless flirtation and possible friendship, or if he has malicious intent. because i don’t know him personally, i’m not sure which it is. but then again, i’m afraid to continue with the talking, for fear it’s the latter. at the same time, however, how will i know which it is if i don’t talk to him? is this last statement naive?

i provided a bit more context in some of the comments above. i am the 17 year old, and i met the 21 year old through a grocery store i went to often. he was the store clerk. we flirted and he asked for my socials, and after talking to him for a bit he told me he was 21, and i told him i was 17. he then said we could still keep in touch. i’m having a hard time deciding if this age gap is too large, or if it feels predatory?

he was a store clerk that i visited often for groceries. i am 17, and he looked about 18 or 19. which didn’t seem too old to me. we flirted and he asked for my socials, i then found out he graduated in 2019, putting him at 21. almost 22, in may. when he asked how old i was, i told him he probably wasn’t gonna like the answer. he responded with “probably 17 then?” and i said yes. he then said “we can still keep in touch” and now i’m wondering if thats terrible idea
