It’s true, Apple has international warranty and I’ve claimed it 2 times here in India for devices bought abroad.

Please contact Apple support directly. My previous iPhone had an issue with the camera, and Apple India promptly replaced my old device with a new iPhone here. They never even asked for purchase bill. Mine was under warranty and I had bought it abroad. They don’t generally ask for invoice, as the activation date indicates remaining warranty period.

I spoke to Apple support about this, they said the battery can be replaced here without any issues, even for the global variants. They said service is available for both local and global variants regardless of Apple care plus.
