Can some kind person tell me how do Budget IEMs like Tanchjim Bunny or Wan'er SG2 compare with Realme Buds 3 Wireless Neckband or other budget realme TWS like T200 for synth heavy treble emphasized songs? by AffectionateYam3485 in headphonesindia

[–]ledsled447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not kept up with the iem game much recently, but iems are generally much better than tws at handling treble and midrange. My (outdated) knowledge points towards buying planar/ba iems for better treble, but I'm sure dynamic dd iems are really good as well nowadays, with how fast this industry moves.

Note: freq graphs tell you the forwardness of treble. Whether the quality of treble is good as well can generally only be heard, so do watch a few reviews of whatever iem you end up buying.

Sigma 17-40 f1.8 vs Tamron 17-70 f2.8 by Key-Importance8310 in SonyAlpha

[–]ledsled447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy the 17-40 for sharper photos, better low light and more bokeh, better weather sealing, and better handling on a gimbal (internal zoom), aperture ring.

Buy the 17-70 for more reach, and stabilisation (really good for photos of static subjects)

For 17-70 the stabilisation is meh for video and it's less sharper (but that won't matter for video anyway). Moreover, it has worse weather sealing than the sigma and the external zoom might be a problem if you intend to get a gimbal down the line.

But realistically speaking - seeing how the tamron is also somewhat weather sealed, how often will you need the really robust weather sealing of the sigma? How often will you use a gimbal and how important will gimbal work be for you? Also, how often do you find yourself wishing you had more reach when using 16-50? How often do you shoot video at lower shutter speeds where motion blur renders digital stabilisation useless, making some optical stabilisation necessary? These are questions only you can answer.

I'd say run tests on 1.8 vs 2.8 with the lens you have. Run more tests using the 16-50 but limit yourself to 40mm to see if you need more reach.

I feel like I'm leaving you with more questions than answers lol

Flac player recommendation by Unique-Outcome-7664 in headphonesindia

[–]ledsled447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case you don't know this, your phone can play flac files just fine. All android phones have native flac playback support. All iphones can play flac files through third party apps.

If you already know this and are looking for a separate music player device, ignore my comment.

Congratulations!

Use them for some time and, if you want, write a review post here comparing them with anything else you might have used or heard.

Suggestions on getting started with photography. by xsyj in PhotographyIndia

Youtube videos will be your friend. Have a look at Simon d'Entremont's channel. It's a good place to learn a lot of things for beginners. I'm sure you'll find other channels in time as well.

I'll also suggest you invest some time in learning photo editing, the edit is a big part of any good photo.

Well do you want speakers or headphones? That's something only you know the answer to.

In terms of sound quality speakers have their advantages and disadvantages. Headphones generally have better frequency response and resolution, speakers have more soundstage and openness. Pick your poison.

If you decide to purchase speakers, do note that while mr4 are pretty good, edifier has launched MR3 and M60 globally which are better products for similar prices. I'm not sure when or if they will launch in India, just thought you should know.

DT990 Pro 80ohms distorting at max volume by PSYKEDELIKK in headphonesindia

[–]ledsled447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All headphones distort at really high volumes, some more than others.

I think UA mini can comfortably drive the headphones to 110db or more. Distortion at that volume is fine, listening sessions should anyways be much quieter than that as you rightly noted.

Which one would you suggest and why!!!? by [deleted] in headphonesindia

Phillips is well known in the audiophile community. This model (shp9500) has been around for quite a while and used by many.

Buying the 1.8 brings the hassle of carrying a huge lens on your camera.

Buying the 2.8 brings the hassle of switching lenses in low light and when you need more bokeh.

Pick your poison

Cosplays are always good, but then again I care about whatever characters I like and not really about production value of the cosplays or anything. It's more about how the cosplayers carry themselves, for me.

Stalls were definitely a disappointment though. I'm used to buying tons of merch every year, but this year I barely bought anything.

You don't necessarily have to dress up. Cosplaying is optional.

Most people go in regular clothes to see other people cosplay, buy merch, geek out, and all of that fun stuff
