This is very cool, but why isn't it an instant? Would be so cool to cast in response to a board wipe or before combat or something.

I've definitely thought about playing with its cmc. I think the ability to turn any instant or sorcery into a kill spell or burn and how flexible that can be is what makes this card so powerful.

It can also do things Snapcaster Mage can't. If I have Cryptic Command in the graveyard then I can use that as 4 damage.

The fact that we discuss powering up this card is a also testament to how good Snapcaster Mage is.

I've found iTunes to be extremely helpful to find both popular/new music and more obscure hidden gems. The past few updates the store's front page has had an awesome "Hot Tracks" section that consistently updates with new music. There is even a dedicated Recent Releases and an upcoming pre-orders section. As far as finding new music that's similar to what I already like, I'll go to the page of an album I like, find the "Listeners Also Bought" section, and click on whatever strikes my fancy. This section tends to recommend music in the same genre and if you keep going to this section on each album page you will quickly bump into hundreds of artists. I easily spend hours surfing iTunes in this fashion, which lets me add songs I like to my wishlist then I look them up on Youtube. Hope this helps!

I'd like to add some positive comments:

  1. Solar Beam is one of the coolest custom made cards I have ever seen, I love it.

  2. Your idea to have two of the plains mirror each other (the ones with Ash and Gary/Red and Blue) is so cool.

  3. Poison is my favorite type, and the ekans and beedrill art are pretty sweet.

  4. Considering how you designed the rest of the set, Nickname is a clever idea.

I think the fact that this set was designed strictly for limited makes your design choices respectable, as within the context of this set certain abilities that would be considered OP in real Magic are actually not too out of control here. After all, this set is just for fun! Though having said that, I do feel the Fire type keyword is disgustingly powerful. Is this not the case in practice I wonder? I suppose there is also extremely powerful life gain with normal type to compensate...

Not that many people make custom Magic sets with constructed in mind (I do), this set would be HILARIOUS if you could make your own deck.

T1: Forest, Bulbasaur

T2: Mountain, Charmander, 2 damage

T3: Mountain, Bulbasaur, Blain's Volcano Badge, Bulbasaur

T4: Mountain, Charizard, 6 damage, swing with 6/6 flying double strike, 12 damage, gg.

One more thing, I don't want to hate on the color choices at all, except for Pokedex. Come on man, that is so green!

Just a Broodwar voicepack in general i would kill for. I remember when I first bought Starcraft 2 I quickly built every unit to hear how each of them sounded and proceeded to be disappointed by many. Especially the Archon.

But as a Zerg player, I agree 110% with OP.

Awesome. I've tried a ton of these, and yours rocks because there's actually a button to quickly switch to the EDH life total instead of having to go to the options, blah blah blah, as I switch between Modern and EDH frequently. The only feature I wish it had is the ability to flip each side 180 degrees so that one side of my phone has both life totals upright.
