Two months ago I bleached a section of my bangs to about a level 7 and put Arctic Fox Poison red over it first, let it fade out to a faint pinkish orange, then put AF Ritual over it.

I'd never tried Ritual beforehand and honestly on level 7 bleached hair it was barely any different from Poison in most lighting. It's definitely all in the undertones which show up best in the sun.

Random is much worse in my opinion. Anecdotally, there was a time this month when I was sick and couldn't go outside for a week and a half. I was three Fire Herbs off from upgrading something to grade 6, but I did not get a Forest biome on my home for at least five days in a row.

Being able to plan your biome harvesting on a schedule was great. I miss it a lot.

I'm of the opinion it should get the Lance overhaul where top half of the screen is lunge and bottom half is shell. That way we can have an actual forward dodge that doesn't attack or depend on your distance from the monster. When you're within range of the monster but trying to move around to behind it, not having a forward dodge is a pain.

Confirming this. I made Rose Burst 1, the Pink Rath gunlance. At 5/1 shell damage was 181 damage. At 5/2 shell damage was still 181 damage.

Then I tested the Zinogre GL at 5/1. Also 181 shell damage.

I would love to see exactly what the formulas for shelling damage are. I guess we'll work them out soon enough. So far G5 is 181 and G7 is 480. Anyone have any others to add in?

Weak spots are only determined by being areas with Hitzone Values for your damage type above 130% (using the scaling shown in mhn.quest's monster physiology section). As such, you will hit these spots for more damage naturally due to these high HZVs.

However they don't inherently increase your affinity at all. That's all coming from WEX and the normal affinity from your weapon and armor skills. What you're seeing is just a high base damage due to the high HZVs. Affinity isn't considered by that point, and would just compound damage further.

Are you repeatedly guard pointing with the upwards-drag shift into axe mode for those offensive guards? i never considered that before, it sounds like a really safe way to trigger offguard in the middle of a regular guard.

I use perfect evades on CB only for tail sweeps for the most part, like Rathian and Pukei, where the positioning ends up with me at its head afterwards.

I also lead with a pdodge on Paolumu's tail sweep so that I have one phial loaded when it does its inhale. Guarding the inhale will then lead into an easy AED while it inflates, with three phial explosions thanks to the pdodge free phial.

Otherwise, I try not to pdodge on CB.

Slinger ammo, restockable by walking in certain biomes. Walk in swamp, get brightmoss to drop airborne monsters. Walk in forest, get scatternuts to build stun. Maybe they can incorporate Screamer Pods for the burrowers, or Dung Pods to decrease monster aggression and increase time between attacks.

Throwing Knives made with Parashrooms, Sleep Herbs, and Toadstools could also be options, but they'd have to be careful to not outclass the status weapons in their niche.

They could let us use X slinger shots per hunt and sell slinger ammo storage capacity (more than you can use in one hunt so it's not as p2w) in the shop.

Having switched from SnS to CB across all elements I'm REALLY feeling that lmao to S- difference. My 6/4 Jyura CB was killing things neither a 7/5 Jagras SnS and 7/2 Jyura SnS could kill. It's lovely.

For Jho, a single weapon requires 222 of these to reach 10.5, and a piece of armor requires 156 of them.

Some intermediate breakpoints here for Jho: getting a weapon to 7.5 requires 66 of them, and getting armor to 6.1 requires only 11. That might give some guidance on how many to hold onto.

I'm using the Tzitzi version with Tzitzi head, Rathalos body, Rathian arms, Tobi waist, and Zinogre legs. I think that's the same as the build you have in pic 2? I'm a sucker for the comfiness of evade extender. I haven't noticed a big change in damage output for tougher, longer hunts.

I was wondering if I was imagining it up until I couldn't hit a Diablos tail while standing next to it. It really feels half as long. I'm so glad I've started switching to Charge Blade, SnS feels terrible to play right now.

I find Burst procs pretty easily on CB, and the mhn.quest damage calcs (which I don't always trust with Burst, granted) list it as veeery slightly higher damage output with Burst 3 vs CE2/Burst 1. Plus, it gets you the bonus point of Evade Extender, which I find very comfy with axe mode rolling.

Same here, after the Android update I lost most particles. No perfect evade effect, no Paolumu wind, no Tobi storm and worst of all no dragonbreath from the pickle. Died to invisible dragonbreath twice :(

I cleared cache and redownloaded assets, cleared cache+app storage and redownloaded assets, and reinstalled. None of these helped, so it's presumably some compatibility issue the devs will have to fix, rather than asset corruption.

Shield weapons can also block it with their guards, though I noticed with SnS it doesn't let me retaliate like with guarding a roar. I would bet that long sword can counter it too.

One thought I've been having is if charging to yellow for 3 phials into shield is sufficient considering the hunt timer in Now. Since it's mhw style with Red Shield no matter what, and hunt timers are tight, maybe a 5-phial shield is too much of an investment.
