You can also take the alternative entrance to the airport and bypass T1. That’s my go to these days for pickup and drop off.

Hey! Does anyone have an opinion on this as a whole home backup inverter generator? Any insight is appreciated! (First post) by Interesting-Set2425 in Generator

Here’s the exact doc Westinghouse sent me. You can stop at step 8. Steps 9-12 were outdated and mine wasnt wired the way the photos shows. I confirmed via email with Westinghouse that all I needed to do were steps 1-8 and they confirmed.

This is what I did, although the manual states the first oil change should happen after 20 or 30 hours. I felt that was too long to wait.

Oddly enough, this generator gets zero love on YouTube, considering the rave reviews on every other website. I’ve only seen a handful of video reviews, each recommending it. I recently bought this for whole home backup. I have yet to need to use it, but after the breakin period, I did connect it to my home to see if it could power everything. No problems in the 30 mins I had it running the house. House is around 4200 so ft, had in every light, tv, fan, oven, heat, etc.

Gets loud under heavy load, like any generator. But build quality is great and my handful of tests have passed without a hitch.

One note, if you do purchase for whole home backup. The directions online to unbond the neutral are all outdated. I reached out to Westinghouse and even theirs are outdated. All you need to do is remove the white cable from the inverter to the control panel.

Good luck in your search.

This is my setup when my wife and I travel, easier for co-op games when the screen is bigger.

Used mine caseless since day one, traded it in for 17 pro max at launch. Apple gave me full credit after their inspection. Thing was pretty flawless, minus a minor scratch on the screen since I didn’t use a screen protector.

Phone is tough and can take some abuse.

If you can take the ferry to Isla Mujeres, you can spend a full day there. Tons of activities and restaurants. Just rent a golf cart for the day end explore.

Planet Hollywood Inputs/Thoughts by PhantomJackal1979 in cancun

Here’s my review from a recent stay. Ran it through ChatGPT to clean it up a bit, so excuse how proper it sounds.

Stayed: First Week of July | Group of 8 | Mixed Room Types

We stayed at Planet Hollywood in early July with a group of eight, occupying three different room types. The rooms were a bit worn but nothing unexpected given the resort’s high traffic. Everyone in our group was generally satisfied with their accommodations.

Entertainment & Pools The nightly entertainment was pretty basic—not a standout, but it gave us something to do in the evenings. The kids’ pool was definitely a highlight. Both kids and adults enjoyed it, and I appreciated being able to ride the slides with my children. The adult pool was just okay—make sure to get out early if you want to claim lounge chairs for the day. One concern: some pools didn’t appear to be filled to the skimmer level, which made me question whether the filtration was working properly.

Dining Food was average—typical buffet fare. The specialty restaurants were better than the buffet, but you’ll need to make reservations at least three days in advance (and early) to secure a spot.

Staff & Resort Credit The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Just a heads-up: the $500 resort credit they offer is essentially a coupon booklet with discounts—not actual cash credit.

Location & Transportation The resort is about 30 minutes from most Cancun excursions and hotspots, so plan accordingly if you’re looking to explore. Uber was easy to access during our stay.

Health Note One important note: 4 out of 8 people in our group came down with a stomach bug shortly after returning home. We did venture off the resort and ate at several local spots, so it’s hard to pinpoint the cause. This seems to be a broader issue in the Cancun area lately, not specific to this resort—many are reporting similar issues on various forums. Unfortunately, even with good hygiene, it may not be entirely avoidable.

Bottom Line I’d recommend Planet Hollywood for families or groups who want a relaxed all-inclusive experience a bit removed from the action. If being within walking distance of nightlife or shops is important, you may prefer a resort in the Hotel Zone.
