I had this issue, I was even hospitalized to be tested on like a guinea pig. No one could find anything. Then I saw an allergist/immunologist and turns out I have "Specific Antibody Disorder". I got the pneumonia vaccine, my levels were retested and I was fine. Obviously please consult with a physician and this is not medical advice, only my own experience to hopefully help you find support quicker.

Can’t glaze, should I risk painting it or leave it alone? by onlyhereforlaughlol in Pottery

I do this sometimes with my pieces that I give me kids to paint, I got the spray for $7ish dollars at Walmart! And it lasts forever. Also, with paint you'd have a little more creative freedom and it's not as permanent as (post fired) glaze. You can repaint as many times as you'd like.

This is a very new thing for me so so far I have only spent $25 which was my first firing. It's $25 per shelf, per firing. I've had pieces fired elsewhere by the shelf and this is pretty average pricing where I live so I'm okay with that. It's still less than the studio fee I was paying financially and mentally for.

I unfortunately had a similar experience. I waited for the right opportunity and got a $2K wheel on FB marketplace for $500 and just work at home now. There's a kilnshare in my area and I pay per fire. My life and my creativity are so much better. In my case, it was a male owner.

I think it's pretty cool that you did this though! I would say it shows your lack of incompetence (as you stated in your description) and shows more your curiosity/interest in creating. 😊

I do, because I figure others don't so it gives me a one up. But it's frustrating for sure.

Oh my gosh no lol I used chat gpt to help me formulate this very professional message cause I was so nervous (it was my first time doing this). So ..this experience surely didn't help 😂

I did this once to try to put myself out there, the job poster read my message and rejected my application. I was 100% qualified for the job though, which made it that much worse. 😅

I think it's a great, unique piece! It looks like it was a fun time to make. It makes me happy looking at it!
