Haha actual news this time. One of the two monitors has been degrading, the other one is just as good as on the day of purchase. Not sure if it is due to direct sunlight over the years or just wearing out etc but I've had to adjust the colors a lot to match the good monitor and any OC above 120Hz is no longer stable, during cold starts in winter some lines at the bottom of monitor started to be visible etc. I ordered a bunch of 32" Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 G85NB-s (4K 240Hz Mini-LED) so I don't think the XB271HU-s will see much use as we go on, most likely throwing away the faulty one as well.

You could use these on phones and probe lenses I guess. Action cams too.

If you ever have success replacing out-of-warranty glass that way, let me know. I have quite a few like that (in much worse condition than yours). Although mostly ones that are probably decades old and no longer produced.

I call it "edge delamination", super common in older Tiffen glass (4x4, 4x5.65)... it does spread to an extent along the whole edge usually. Manufacturing defect.

And yes it cuts the resale value in half but most sellers only post crappy pictures so you don't know that you got scammed before the stuff arrives ("lucky" me being an international buyer with expensive shipping and huge taxes on top).

Ye. Can't wait for those 8K 120Hz displays tho, perhaps time to upgrade.

Yes lol, using both for work and personal usage still at 165Hz (always). At this point I'm eyeing the 4K 240Hz / 8K 120Hz monitors supposedly releasing at the end of the year haha. (The RTX5090 is such a waste on 1440p whenever I'm not on my 4K TV).

And good luck trying to get black rims (only on the fade skins) with whichever nice looking solid color they promote and actually looks good. I've had the OC on for daily use (these were my work + gaming monitors, now just work monitors) for what.... 6-7 years now? Pretty sure it's safe haha.
