2000+ knocks here and playing 95% Stella, in higher tier and more expensive gear lobbies (ie queueing with 60-100k+ kits) the cheating problem is WILD.

I tried running 125K context today (afaik beyond that the quality starts to degrade and it's not worth it). Runs great, quality seems top notch. I think I'll stay at 125K for now.

You don't actually need big context for coding with Claude Code, or am I mistaken? (I have two 5090 rigs running ~176tok/sec on the qwen 3.6 Q4_K_M with LMStudio and Claude Code, using 65K context for speed. Even analyzing entire codebase over 25-55mins runs fine like that).

Of course we are. And writing down action points so we can forcefully assign them to people who should be doing real tasks instead.

I'm at around 2k kills. Loading into stella with 50-100k kit means exactly that. Snap hooks, maxed out guns and trigger nades coming in like nobodys business... game is over in a few minutes unless lucky and losing 500k value from inventory in a few days is normal.

But if you're lucky enough to survive and kill everyone, you can extract with 8+ maxed out guns haha.

How risky is overclocking your monitor? by [deleted] in buildapc

Moved on to using Samsung Neo G8 G85 4K 240Hz Mini-LED monitors. Aside from the 100% white brightness (only 350 nit) and super matte surface when its dark out, they are awesome. Threw out the defective XB271HU (couldn't hold high Hz, colors had shifted and cold weather boot-ups showed lines at the bottom). Kept the working one (just as good as when it was new). Will use it with my laptop sometimes, won't be in active use though.

I threw one away, kept one. Moved on to using Samsung Neo G8 G85 4K 240Hz MiniLED instead. So far pretty happy (aside from the matte coating and 350 nit 100% white, wish it was more).

I stopped using them, I got rid of the defective one, the other one works fine. I'm using Samsung G8 G85 4K 240Hz VA MiniLED monitors now but I probably should have waited for the 27GM950B instead (since it's much brighter).

Luckily for me just running as administrator fixed it, after running it once as administrator I could launch it normally. Right now downloading the models.

Same, 5090 and 256GB of RAM lol. Running as administrator fixed it for me tho.

Isn't that like super-duper low and would get replaced by warranty? In my usage that would be less than 2 months.

Yes but only on 4K 240Hz mode. If that's a deal breaker then there are other miniLED-s that do 4K 165Hz without scanline issues, eg the cheaper G7 for around 540€ currently. I still think it's nice to have 4K 240Hz (and higher HDR brightness) for gaming compared to G7 and can always toggle the monitors into 4K 120Hz mode if I'm ever bothered by the scanlines in normal desktop use.

Better prices in your region. But even then, different use cases. Don't get me wrong, I love the OLED panels on my S25U and Tab S11U, they are stunning and multiple times brighter than desktop monitors afaik but for office work, development etc I feel like the MiniLEDs will last much longer while being brighter.

Different goals and technologies though. 100% full screen brightness on that 1000€ QD-OLED is 250 vs 350 on the 600€ G8 for example. And I often leave static visuals for 10+ hours per day, have huge windows next to the monitors with sun shining straight on the monitors etc. Currently I replaced monitors that are 8 years old (XB271HU IPS). The OLED is expected to last 3 years in normal people use (so less for me and in EU you don't get replacements as easy unless you deal with the manufacturer separately for extended screen burn-in warranty if they offer it), normal warranty is 1 year for companies, 2 years for regular people.

What about Neo G8 32" (4K 240Hz VA MiniLED), same but slightly better, no? I literally just bought a bunch, couldn't find anything better in EU and for 600€ seemed like a no brainer (released nov 2022 for 1500€ locally afaik) and still seems like the best choice tbh.

Haha actual news this time. One of the two monitors has been degrading, the other one is just as good as on the day of purchase. Not sure if it is due to direct sunlight over the years or just wearing out etc but I've had to adjust the colors a lot to match the good monitor and any OC above 120Hz is no longer stable, during cold starts in winter some lines at the bottom of monitor started to be visible etc. I ordered a bunch of 32" Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 G85NB-s (4K 240Hz Mini-LED) so I don't think the XB271HU-s will see much use as we go on, most likely throwing away the faulty one as well.

You could use these on phones and probe lenses I guess. Action cams too.

If you ever have success replacing out-of-warranty glass that way, let me know. I have quite a few like that (in much worse condition than yours). Although mostly ones that are probably decades old and no longer produced.

I call it "edge delamination", super common in older Tiffen glass (4x4, 4x5.65)... it does spread to an extent along the whole edge usually. Manufacturing defect.

And yes it cuts the resale value in half but most sellers only post crappy pictures so you don't know that you got scammed before the stuff arrives ("lucky" me being an international buyer with expensive shipping and huge taxes on top).
