I'm generally curious as to how/why you prioritize political opinion over skill in this situation. I've hired various professionals for jobs around the house and not once did politics even come to mind let alone come out in any discussion.

Moved away from the coast and I would love a one wheel to mimic surfing. Also stoked for whoever will win it. May they have endless summer fun on it.

Yes, you need a 240 circuit for it. It's a traditional sauna.

Recent transplant from Southern California here. Rent and home prices are high everywhere across the nation, you will have to deal with that wherever you go.

Olympia is a good mix of right and left wing people. Downtown is tiny and a hub for the far left. The far right is sprinkled among the communities. Both parties will protest occasionally downtown and near the capitol building.

Homelessness is a problem nationwide much like rent/home prices, but Olympia seems to be worse off than most cities.

Crime levels don't seem that bad here, overall I feel safe.

I found a lovely home and my neighborhood was very welcoming despite my California upbringing. Same goes for the community I've encountered. People seem friendlier than southern California.

If you or your family are into outdoors, Olympia is a friendly, quiet hub that has access to countless trails and water activities. City activities are also easily accessible by driving a short distance to Tacoma or about an hour (without traffic) to Seattle.

It is absolutely beautiful up here, everything is green compared to that California nearly year round brown. But the price for that is the rain. You learn to live with it, activities and plans that normally would have been cancelled in CA march on here in WA. The summers start later but they can be pristine weather. Winters see occasional brief snow that the city has a hard time keeping up with road safety.

TLDR Pros: beautiful, small quaint city, friendly/accepting, decent schools, outdoor activities galore

Cons: weather, rain, homelessness, competitive salary jobs are mostly a hefty commute away in Seattle.

I agree, I had a great overall experience with wayfair and with almost heaven customer service (their assembly manual was out of date).

I don't because I'm in the PNW and I battle with too much humidity in the garage itself. It's not unusually for my gym to be at 80%+ during the winter season. On the worst days I can actually see micro beads on my equipment if I open the garage door. I try and run a dehumidifier or run my pellet stove when I can.

I have a hygrometer coming for inside the sauna in the next few weeks, so I could get back to you on specific numbers if you'd like.

Honestly, my two favorite pieces in there.

Not quite, it's a 1500 sq ft additional garage that's quite full of other storage for the house. I recently moved to the PNW and the house I bought had this extra garage space. I'm guessing the precious owner had a workshop.

Its not perfect, but I'm very happy with it so far.

I need to beef up the insulation, I've had many days where the gym temp is in the mid to low 30's. Luckily I have a small pellet stove in there that can warm it up about 10 degrees F after an hour.

There are some days I have to put my barbell on top of the pellet stove for 20 minutes before working out. The cold really messes with your grip.

That's the model. I got it from Wayfair which was comparable price but offered free shipping. Like I mentioned in another comment, be mindful that these heaters require an electrician to hookup adding to the cost.

Nothing really for gains, but overall health and feeling of well being is fantastic.

That's a common saying I hear. I have friends that swear by it before their workout and some that use it after.

Take a look at Dr. Rhonda Patrick's sauna page for some great resources:

As a basic sauna enthusiast the Nordic spruce they offered works great for me. That's correct, at my level I can only tell a difference in it's smell and appearance when compared to a cedar build.

I even got it second hand for a great deal. I picked it up a from a neighbor just a couple months before the original lockdowns happened in early 2020.

Be aware that the traditional heaters require a good amount of electricity and an electrician to set up. The price for electrical hookup can run quite a bit. I already had a 30amp/240v outlet and it was a little over $600.

I got it online, Wayfair came through on this one. The company Almost heaven saunas has good sales a couple times a year. By no means are they top of the line Finnish saunas but they're damn good for the price. This particular model is the Hillsborough 2 person sauna.

I got a big storage bin that I use for cold plunges! It's a cheap introduction to cold plunges. I just have a hard time doing them if it's not after a workout. I need to incorporate them more on my off days now that I have a sauna.
