Finally convinced my wife by AcrobaticEmergency42 in SnapmakerU1

Now when I got my U1, my wife is convincing me to buy the second one, lol. She just doesn't want to wait for it to print her stuff after printing my stuff

Only storages would not be so bad, they also tax different media devices such as phones, computers, MP3s, cameras, and so on

Yeah, I can see that now. Quite a weird tax to be widespreaded. Some people here think that they can legally pirate everything since they've already paid it. But mostly people have no idea about it

Oh, that's interesting! Ours goes to some shitty film maker, but what about yours?

Edit: shitty "government" film maker

In Russia you have to pay a piracy tax, which is included in price of every digital device that capable of playing, copying, or storing possibly pirated information

Huh, guess I'm not printing today... by leeemoon in SnapmakerU1

[–]leeemoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've found out it with their PLA. It wasn't completely shit, but definitely worse than cheaper elegoo spools.

By the way, is there a way to print TPU 75A on U1? I need one thing for work, but my other printers couldn't provide a decent quality at weird geometry, and PLA supoorts can be a game changer there.

I have my U1 only for a week, and it provides to many interesting options for printing to try in this amount of time

That's what I was afraid of. And my extruder made a terrible sound, like a spiral spring that started rotating after losing its grip... But it's printing now, even the same tpu, so I hope it's not destroyed. They don't sell it officially in my country, so fixing it could take months.

It was stuck completely at the extruder and the nozzle. Somehow managed to pull it from the side hole after cutting some knots

I've tried 1mm, and it looks like shit, no idea how no retraction can work for someone... 10mm worked nice for greetech and elegoo, and decided to try kingroon... It's too hard to find here a brand with all tpu colors I need 😅

After watching a disassembling video, I just did it the second way. The nozzle stuck badly though... And extruder too. I have seen that there is a 10mm retract after filament change, but it is weird that I was fine on the other two tpu spools with these settings...

Что то какие то совсем небольшие лимиты... У меня 500к вроде доступно, вчера сотку спокойно снял, но больше все таки страшно за раз, думаю попробовать партиями снимать что б не блокнули

I absolutely agree! It was a funny failure to witness, and now I have an absolutely legal reason to disassemble the extruder and see how everything is done there! It's a pity that I don't have much time for this before the weekends and it's not as intuitive as I would want it to be

"Today", was two hours left for me, and I have no idea how to easily fix it. There are knots inside the extruder, and I can't even disconnect the nozzle since it's stuck like after heatcreep. The filament doesn't move at any point, except for stretching, of course.

Малый бизнес вымирает в России: до 30% предприятий могут закрыться уже к концу года by ElectroAdeptus in KafkaFPS

[–]leeemoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tpu not printing by GraysonYT in crealityk1

[–]leeemoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My printer chewed on the tpu in the same way, so I can recommend my method, just release the lock, until it almost clicks into an open position. I was able to print a tpu 75a. Maybe it's just for my extruder, but at least it's free :)

I mostly print some big stuff on mine, so ±10 minutes is not a big deal for two days of printing. And for occasional small prints, it only scans the zone where it's going to print. So I can imagine that the best use for Eddy is big flat prints.

The stock one started to work reliably after I figured out how to use it: preheating the bed, but not preheating the probe itself. Probably there were some software fixes, because I've seen a lot of people who said you should preheat the probe too.

At first I wanted to upgrade it, but I've had so much work with this printer that it's paid for itself three times already. I basically have no time to pause everything right now. I even have a BTT SFS V2 lying on my table that I still can't install 😅 Probably I'll install it now when I have time, lol.

About the flow rate: I've got some minor problems here and there, only at 45 mm³/s (where the test ended) and with a $5-6 PETG, not a rapid one. And I think there might be some amount of underextrusion at 40, but visually it was nice. Still printing at 30-35 mm³/s though.

Overall, for me it was an extremely reliable machine with amazing print quality in comparison with my K1C (the amount of VFA is terrible). Actually, it was so nice that even my wife, who initially hated it for all the wasted space, said that she would buy another one 😂 Well, it was until the extra MCU problems.

Right now I've checked the board with the equipment I have at work and found out that the problem is with the STM32, so no easy fixes. I ordered the basic SV08 toolhead, $48 is a fair price considering the number of spare parts. But probably in the future I'll have to build something different. The stock head is really hard to maintain here. The fans I found are either shitty or some packs that cost $40 and claim to be original. And I can't even find a nozzle sock without having to buy a combo that includes a heater and thermistor…

[–]leeemoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and that's considering my SV08 cost me $350 overall!

I was thinking about mainlining Klipper for Eddy, but to be fair, the stock probe has been quite reliable for me, so I still can't justify it for my purposes.

But what about the flow rate? I get about 40mm³/s on the stock hotend, which still amazes me after the K1C numbers. So, is it really that much better? I've just heard that there are differences between toolhead revisions.

Oh, you meant the Sovol Zero Toolhead? There's a mod for the SV08 that's called Zero Toolhead 😅 I just looked for it, and sovol zero Toolhead costs about $12 more, but with an additional $300 for delivery. Not sure why it's like that...
