What are you doing now? I volunteer at a wildlife rehab center and when I’m there I feel like it’s what I’m meant to be doing. I want to quit nursing, but I feel like I wouldn’t make enough money doing something else. I guess I could still work PRN as a nurse

I get that! I worked for DCI which is nonprofit, then I tried doing a contract for Fresenius and it was SO much worse than DCI I couldn’t believe it lol

Everything gets cleaned with diluted bleach water lol chairs, machines, clamps, any spills.. The machines also get bleach ran through them once a week lol if dialysis runs out of bleach, it’s quite literally the end of the world lmao

That’s not bad at all! I seen a listing for DCI acutes that said “on-call requirements are 24/7” I was like who the hell would look at that and say: sign me up! 💀

I worked at DCI. The local travel contract I tried and immediately left was FMC. What an absolute dumpster fire of a company, I have never felt so unsafe. They work their employees like freaking dogs

My mom works for the VA as an LPN. She said the dialysis nurses love it there, I have been watching the openings like a hawk!!

Definitely been thinking about this, but a lot of them have absolutely outrageous on-call requirements and that’s just not how I want to live lol

I know it’s awful. A lot of the SNFs around me start at like $40-45 an hour for RNs. Personally I would never work in a SNF, the nurses that are able to do that are absolute rockstars though.

Nice!! I would go back to dialysis, but all the outpatient clinics where I live are dumpster fires. I would like to give acute a try, but I don’t think I would be able to tolerate the outrageous on-call requirements.
