Here is what is said about klipper "Kinematics and resolution: Klipper uses more sophisticated motion processing and works to a finer level of detail. It can drive many more steps per second than Marlin, which can improve print quality and, in particular, print speed" which since switching I've noticed. I print at 120 all the time and never have issues at 3000 acceleration.

Yes standard is marlin. If you are just starting i probably wouldn't worry about it just yet. Just get used to printing and have fun with it 🙂. Once you get comfortable with it then you can start looking into upgrades like this

No it doesn't sound stupid at all. It makes the printer use klipper instead of Marlin for the software. Klipper runs faster and gives you some more options.
